AH said she punched JD once to defend her sister, having heard rumours of him previously pushing supermodel Kate Moss down a set of stairs. AH was accused of inventing the reference to Kate Moss on the spot, but she replied, “That’s always what it’s been”.

“For years I had been Johnny’s punching bag, for years I never hit him, never so much as landed a blow. I will never forget that incident, it was the first time after all the years that I actually struck him back.”

She also denied spitting on Depp and throwing a can of Red Bull at him.

Ms Heard said she woke up "heartbroken" and alone on her 30th birthday, surrounded by broken glass and having been attacked the night before.

She claims JD assaulted her when she complained that he had turned up late to her birthday party, saying, “After hitting me, he took off, as he always did.”

“I couldn’t be excited”, she said of preparations to go to Coachella. “My husband had beaten me up on my 30th birthday. I fell asleep once again alone in the house. Having woken up on my 30th birthday covered in glass, I was heartbroken.”

AH said it was “unimaginable” that she would defecate on the bed she shared with JD. A housekeeper found the excrement in the sheets after AH left for the Coachella festival to celebrate her 30th birthday with friends.

JD claims AH was responsible for the mess, but she insists that is wrong and suggests one of their pet dogs may have done it.

Asked if she had left the excrement on the bed, she said, “I did not, that’s absolutely disgusting."

She said the incident was “appalling” and denied one of her friends was responsible, “Of course not, that’s unimaginable to me”.

AH said one of their dogs had a problem with toilet habits and “liked to cover Johnny”, but said she would always clean up the mess rather than leave it for the housekeeper.

Returning to bed incident, she added, “I didn’t think this was funny. I can’t imagine what kind of human being has a sense of humour like that other than Johnny. I think it’s horrific, that’s why I can imagine a dog being responsible for that…but I wasn’t there.”

She added that she was sleeping alone in that bed at the time, as she had separated from Mr Depp.

“His perception of his place in our dynamic, in our relationship, could be so skewed he didn’t understand until it was too late exactly how absurd it would be if he were claiming any kind of victimhood.”

Insisting the abuse claims were true, she said, “Johnny is twice my size, he beat me up for five years.”

She added, “I didn’t want to do this to him, I didn’t want to do this to us, this is awful, embarrassing.”

She claimed his “vast” publicity team was feeding stories to the press, and added, “I just wanted him to stop doing this in the press because it would force me into a position where I would have to prove it.”

JD recorded a conversation with AH after she had filed for a restraining order, in which she is heard saying it would “unbelievable to imagine” she had either been “in a secret fight club” or “plotting to do this for three years ... just saving it up for the right time”.

“No one is going to believe that”, she told Mr Depp.

Ms Laws questioned if AH was angry at the time rather than being “petrified” of JD as she had stated in court papers. “Angry at times, but mostly heartbroken”, she said. “I was ending my marriage, it was a really bad time.”

AH denied trying to “blackmail” JD after the split with the threat of a restraining order containing allegations of domestic violence.

Ms Laws suggested Heard was “making things up as you go along”, but AH replied, “Ms Laws, I remember this, all this happened to me, and I remember this.”

Responding to an accusation that she was trying to blackmail Depp, Heard said, “No, the TRO (temporary restraining order), as is the divorce filing, is a public record. All I wanted was for Johnny and me to move on.”

Ms Laws continued: “On the topic of what you say about his jealousy, you mentioned in your statement that James Franco was someone that Mr Depp was accusing you of having an affair with and he was quite wrong about it.” AH, said, “That’s right.”

Ms Laws then played CCTV footage of AH travelling downstairs in the lift on May 22 2016 at around 11pm, before travelling back upstairs shortly after with Mr Franco. AH confirmed that the man in the footage was Mr Franco.

Ms Laws asked, “Are you trying to avoid being seen by the camera there?”

AH replied, “We were talking. He was saying to me ‘oh my god, what happened to you?’ “He saw my face… when I let him in. He saw my face and he said ‘what the f***?'”

Ms Laws asked, “That’s not secretive talking on that camera?” AH said, “Yes, it’s discreet.”

Asked about what time she collected Mr Franco from downstairs, Ms Heard confirmed it was after 11pm and said, “In those days, I didn’t sleep much at night.”

The barrister then read out text messages between AH and Elon Musk on May 22, 2016, in which AH tells him that she is going to obtain a restraining order against JD.

Musk offers to “arrange 24/7 security for you”, adding, “The offer would stand, even if you never wanted to see me again… anyway, sorry for being an idiot. The radio silence hurts a lot. It only matters because I really like you.”

Ms Laws then referred to evidence given by Alejandro Romero, another concierge at the Eastern Columbia building, who said he saw Mr Musk visiting AH "when Mr Depp was in Australia”.

AH responded, “He’s wrong. I wasn’t even in communication with Elon until 2016.”

Ms Laws referred to a photograph of Heard, Ms Henriquez (AH's sister) and JD with Keith Richards, dated March 21 2013, which she said was disclosed shortly before the trial. The barrister said the photo showed Heard with an “apparently clear face”.

Ms Henriquez said: “She has make up on and this was taken on the 21st so I don’t see injuries on her face.”

Ms Laws said that it was “after the photo was served on the defence that your sister’s account of when this incident took place changed (and) you yourself have now changed your evidence”. She added: “Your sister had dated the incident where you had gone to the Keith Richards documentary as being March 8 (based) on a text … between herself and Mr Depp in which the words ‘disco bloodbath’ were used.”

Ms Henriquez said: “I do recall that text.”

Ms Laws said: “And your sister had originally said that that text was received by her on March 12. It refers to an incident that took place four days earlier which is how the March 8 date came to be the date of the incident.” She suggested that Ms Henriquez had now changed her evidence to “support and copy your sister”.

Ms Henriquez said they initially said the incident on March 8 “because we were telling the truth, it would be my own recollection”. She added: “I can’t recall how we got to the March 8 in my original statement. I imagine I would have referred to text messages and such.”

Ms Laws asked: “When did you realise that you had got the date so very wrong of this incident?”

Ms Henriquez said: “It was very recently.” She added that she was “going over text messages between Nathan Holmes (JD’s former assistant) and I”.

Ms Laws then asked: “And it certainly wasn’t a case of Amber saying ‘we have got it wrong, we’ve got to sort this out’?”

Ms Henriquez said: “I disagree with that.”

She also said that she had a copy of the Keith Richards photograph on her mobile phone because JD had sent it to her.

Ms Laws said: “So, for a very long time, years, you have had that photograph on your phone with your sister with a clear face?”

Ms Henriquez said: “Yes.”

Ms Laws then said: “I’m going to suggest that neither you nor your sister came clean about this photograph with her with a clear face because, in her statement, what she said about why she lands on March 22 is because she says (she) finds a photo with some cocaine on it.”

She added: “You both keep to yourselves knowledge of the fact that you have a photograph of your sister with a clear face at the Keith Richards film set.”

Ms Henriquez replied: “I didn’t know they were relevant.”

Ms Henriquez claimed JD let out an “awful, evil laugh” as he held a small dog out of the window of a moving car. She alleged this took place when they were travelling to a filming shoot with Keith Richards.

Depp is accused of being on a “bender” of drink and cocaine at the time of the incident, which he denies.

“I was in the front seat. I looked back, trying to hear what they were talking about over the music, and he was smoking with the window open. I don’t remember what was said but he suddenly held Pistol – Amber’s dog – out the window.

“I remember freezing because he was so f***ed up and if Pistol had wriggled, he would have dropped her and that would have been it.
“I remember Amber was crying saying ‘please baby, please let me have Pistol’.
“Johnny was laughing this awful, evil laugh and was shouting and teasing her about dropping her dog out the window.
“Amber was pleading with him, and somehow managed to get the dog back. Johnny was laughing and joked ‘maybe we should put her in the microwave’. It was really dark and messed
up.”

Whitney Henriquez denied being “frightened” of her sister.
“Not at all”, she said. “I’m not afraid of my sister.”

Ms Laws questioned her about part of her evidence, when she claims to have seen a splintered bed frame with blood and blonde hair on it. Heard claims JD pinned to the bed in December 2015, pulling out chunks of her hair and headbutting her.
Ms Henriquez denied tailoring her evidence to support her sister.
“Is there a reason why you keep looking up to the public gallery, to your sister, during the evidence”, asked Ms Laws.
Ms Henriquez replied: “No.”

Ms Henriquez claims her sister defended her by punching JD in the face when he was drunkenly trying to attack them both. She said he had already thrown a can of Red Bull which struck his sobriety nurse, and he then pursued Heard and her sister up a set of stairs at the LA penthouse.

“When he got to the top of the stairs, he was pulling me backwards so he could get to Amber”, she said.
“I remember being scared because I was worried that I would fall backwards and fall down the stairs. Johnny reached out to shove me out of the way to lunge at Amber – reaching out to try hit Amber – and instead struck me, hitting me in the arm.

“Amber suddenly lurched forward and hit him and said ‘don’t hit my sister’. I didn’t see exactly how Amber hit him but it didn’t seem especially hard, it was just enough for him to lose momentum. She was just trying to protect me and I think it probably stopped me from being pushed down the stairs.”
She added: “There was a struggle with me stuck in the middle of it, and he really went for Amber.
“Somehow I was pushed out of the way so I wasn’t between them, but I was standing right there next to them when Johnny grabbed her by the hair
with one hand and I saw him punch her really hard in the head with his other hand multiple times.”

Ms Henriquez said a security guard eventually stepped in, but JD continued to hurl abuse at Heard.
Heard told the court this week she acted in self-defence after remembering a rumour that Depp had pushed ex-girlfriend Kate Moss down a set of stairs.

JD wantedHeard to play the role of Queenie in the Fantastic Beasts films, the High Court heard today.

Heard’s acting coach Kristy Sexton claims the actress’s approach to roles changed during her relationship with JD as he “controlled” the way her career was shaped.

She said, “The best I can describe it is that she became very nervous about her acting – whether it was for a part he wanted her to do or for one he didn’t want her to do, her work was dictated by Johnny."

“I could usually tell if it was something he wanted her to be involved in because she became a nervous wreck about getting it right. But if he didn’t want her to be involved, she was a nervous wreck for a different reason, because she was so worried about his reaction.”

Heard didn't get the role of Queenie, while Depp is part of the series as the archvillain Gellert Grindelwald.

Heard's acting coach Kristy Sexton claims JD tried to stop Heard from pursuing film roles that he did not approve of, especially ones involving nudity.

She said, “I remember we would put an audition on tape for her for certain roles, including interesting indie projects, and he would put a stop to it if he didn’t deem it worthy. She told me he was particularly concerned about her taking roles involving sexuality and/or sex scenes.”

Ms Sexton said Heard told her not to tell Depp about rehearsals for sexual scenes, and she claimed to have heard him saying: “You’re my woman - you are not going to play that kind of character”.

“She started telling me that he was accusing everyone of being in love with her and accusing her of wielding her sexuality all the time. She also told me that he was constantly upset about her ex-partners. She told me he was worried about her having affairs with co-stars. She started telling me that she couldn’t do certain roles because he didn’t want her doing ‘ parts’.”

Ms Sexton claimed Depp tried to stop Heard making The Adderall Diaries, saying she would be a “”, and said Heard had become “stressed about the nudity” in London Fields, attributing the problem to Depp. She had been naked for roles before and I had never seen her so stressed about it,” she said. “I remember saying to her that she should do it because it was such a great and interesting role, but she was worried about it.”

“She told me that he had told her she shouldn’t be doing stuff like that anymore because it made her look like a ‘cheap ’.

“I told her I thought she looked great in it and had taken pictures of myself next to the billboard, but she stopped doing modelling work after this. She turned down the next Guess campaign, even though it was a lot of money for her and told me that Johnny had said ‘he doesn’t want me whoring myself out’."
