Ms Henriquez is seen on a video showing injuries said to have been inflicted by her actress sister, as a friend comments “I can’t believe Amber beat your ”.

The bombshell tape has been played for the first time in court today, believed to have been taken from a reality TV show recording from 2006 or 2007.

Heard’s sister is sat down as a friend says to her: “I can’t believe Amber beat your , I know you could beat her . Whitney, truth or dare, did you really start the fight with your sister or did she start it? For real, for real, for real.”

There is then the comment: “She really did whoop your butt”, as Ms Henriquez says: “We’re not going to talk about it.”

David Sherborne, for Depp, today argued for the tape to be played and Ms Henriquez to be questioned about it.

“We say quite clearly from that video not only did Ms Amber Heard physically assault her sister but it’s quite clear also that the injuries that were suffered by Ms Whitney Heard are being examined by the individual we see in the tape," he said. There’s no denial of the fact Ms Amber Heard beat up Ms Whitney Heard and that there are injuries. You will see Whitney Heard allowing these injuries to be seen.”

He said the recording had been handed to Depp’s team by an anonymous source overnight, and they believed it came from an unbroadcast segment of a TV show.

“It’s quite clearly stated that all of those present knew Amber Heard had beaten up Whitney Heard. She doesn’t deny it, she simply says she doesn’t want to talk about it.”

Mr Justice Nicol ruled that Ms Henriquez’s cross-examination could be reopened for questions about the clip, but added the comment: "I’m doubtful as to whether this is going to take the matter very much further."

Whitney Henriquez said footage of a friend saying her actress sister had “beat your ” was an attempt to make a storyline in a bad reality show more interesting.

Asked if she had told her friend of a physical fight with her sister before the cameras started rolling, she said: “I did not discuss anything other than a verbal argument with my friends off camera.

Ms Henriquez said her friend had not made any reference to “marks on my face”, and added: “I had no interest in bringing a fight with my sister, a verbal argument with my sister, a personal matter at the time, on camera. I had no interest in that.”

Referring to the video clip of Amber Heard's sister, Johnny Depp's lawyer said: “All we know so far are the circumstances in which it is filmed.”

The lawyer said it was filmed in 2006 or 2007, adding: “It is right that it was filmed as part of, as we understand it, a television programme, but the footage your lordship sees was not footage to be broadcast. It is not scripted… it is the rushes. There is nothing, in my submission, light-hearted at all. It is quite clearly stated two of those present know that Ms Amber Heard had beaten up Ms Whitney Heard.
She doesn’t deny it, she simply says that she doesn’t want to talk about it. Ms Amber Heard says that she was never violent towards Mr Depp and the only time she assaulted him was that occasion when she was with Ms Whitney Heard… in self defence.”

Mr Sherborne continued: “Our case is she (Whitney) has lied in order to support her sister on this very important issue as to what happened on the stairs (in March 2015). In those circumstances, we say it is evidence we are entitled to show and evidence we are entitled to put to Whitney Heard.”

Concluding her evidence, Whitney Henriquez said she and her sister had grown up in a “very violent” household where their mother had stayed despite abuse by her husband.

“She never left, never even thought about leaving, never tried to leave. We were told that ‘you stayed’”, she said, referring to her mother who died in April.

Ms Henriquez said Heard was “madly in love” with JD and they had hoped he would beat his addictions to drink and drugs.

“We all met Johnny when he was sober, he was a kind, beautiful, big, generous human being that we loved. We were so desperate for the fact we wanted that Johnny to come back. Eventually it became clear to all of us he wasn’t going to change and it was just going to get worse.”

“I’m here because she was a victim of domestic violence, for no other reason. I’m here to tell the truth and do the right thing.”
