Jon Ramsey on 48Hours

Isn't 'that child" how they continued to refer to their daughter after her murder?

I don't get that.

While I fully believe they KNOW what happened at the very least, I don't get why 'I loved that child' is a sticking point for some.
It is ABSOLUTELY phrasing I would use. (bad grammer??)

Just the other day, I was discussing my husband and said, "I would fight tooth and nail for that man.'

Maybe regional dialogue???

I agree with you on that Brefie. I have also heard Patsy refer to Jon Benet as JonBenet much more than "that child". The thing about Jon and Patsy, to me that is, is that they come off as very loving parents IN SOME OF THEIR INTERVIEWS. There are a number of them where Patsy is very obviously on medication. I read somewhere that in the very beginning of the aftermath of the murder that when she and Jon and some friends would go to Michigan, Patsy would end up going hysterical and the trip was ended. Just some information.

The interveiw shortly after JB's death was pretty telling to me...the one where she cited reasons why JB was better off dead...I beleive she was trying to justify her actions in her own(warped) mind at the time.Anyone not guilty would have been angry that their daughter wouldn't ever get to do things like grad. high school,go to college, get married, etc.I know she was medicated but still...it sounds like she was trying very hard to think she'd sent JB in a 'better place' so she shouldn't feel guilty.JMO.

And lets not forget she said when she was wrapping the doll for JonBenet, she had a vision of JonBenet in her casket. She did say this in one of her interviews.

It's also in DOI. Patsy does a remarkable amount of rationalizing why JonBenet is better off dead. It's disturbing.

I think this is how Patsy managed to live with herself after JonBenet was dead. She had to convince herself JonBenet was better off dead. :(

I would love to ask John why he headed to the basement more than once rather than her bedroom, shouldn't that be where they needed to search for clues? Isn't that where she was supposed to be last they knew??? I know I've ranted about this before but it's such an obvious mess-up on his part.

Hey Michelle :blowkiss: Hope you see your brother soon, prayers for his safety! J.

I have asked a few people if there child was missing where would you begin to look for her in your house. They all said, the last place she was.

Solace,

You're quick! I went to edit a typo and add a sentence to clarify what I meant about Patsy pretty much justifying the death of JonBenet. :blushing:

Yes,and she talks about the purple she put in the xmas tree. She says she had unintentionally wove death into her tree.My thought on that is, so she put purple on the tree..so what? It doesn't mean anything, just that it might look nice. Then she rationalizes it by saying 'purple does have it's place after all'.Pretty warped if you ask me.

I agree, JMO. She comes across as sounding like one of those people who obsesses about religion and has that weird light in their eyes while doing so (you know, the one that indicates the mental illness burning inside.) Her rationalizing the use of purple and JonBenet's death not only saving her from a life of possible pain but also bringing other people closer to the Lord (she really said that) as being a good thing is a bit odd, and really reaching. I'm surprised that some people can swallow that claptrap without questioning her more. She almost tries to imply JonBenet was some sort of martyr and that God himself orchestrated her death. WTH...

I really think Patsy suffered some kind of mental break that Christmas night, and never really recovered all the way.

Absolutely! That's where I'd concentrate my attention - in the last place that I knew s/he had been.

I also think that a kidnapper would expect the parents to check where they knew the child had been last, and would leave the ransom note on the bed of the abducted child.

If she'd truly been missing,I believe most parents would have found her body in an hour or less. The R's would have been frantic and would have been turning that house upside down looking for her, or for any clues that might have been left behind,to the point of turning the house upside down and shaking it if they had to.Instead,PR sits or lays in the sunroom and JR answers the door cordially.I'm NOT buying it ! I've had a missing relative and this is NOT how relatives, esp not parents, behave in such a situation. The's R's excuse is that there isn't a script for those situations ..no,but there sure are things that set off the alarms of suspicious behavior, and I think they qualified that morning.

I think she really needed to be committed long-term.I bet JR knew it,too, but didn't try to out of fear she might confess.

Not if I found a 3 page ransom note

Solace: Absolutely not, why there are two DNA experts who are convinced that that DNA matches the DNA under JonBenet's fingernails.

Ned: Isn't that impossible to conclude Mr. Ramsey due to the fact that both sets of DNA are degraded and only can identify some genetic markers? How can you get a positive match from 2 sets of DNA with incomplete markers? Just who are these DNA experts that believe this to be true? Isn’t this a lot of hype created by your lawyer Lin Wood to keep the public from focusing in on you and your wife as the murderers?

I don't know - We got Erin Moriarity, that idiot from 48 hours to believe us. We are going to stick with this story.

Linda,

Even if you found a 3 page ransom note, you would call the police and you would frantically SEARCH her room for clues.

1.) Why are you no longer friends with the Whites immediately following the murder of your daughter, yet you claim in your book that the Whites were one of your closest friends at the time?

I have no idea why we are not friends. Patsy and I tried to keep the friendship going, but for some reason, which is a mystery to me, they avoid us. (It might have something to do with the fact that I named him and his wife as viable suspects).
Well that would be understandably so. Just curious, why would you have suspected either Fleet or Pricilla to have been involved in murder of your daughter? Have you spoken since the crime? What have you done exactly to keep the friendship going? Aren’t you in the least bit interested in speaking with Mr. White to see why his recollections of that mornings events are so different from yours, or if there is something you two could collectively come up with that you may have missed that might help to solve this case?

2.) Where were you for the hour you went missing and why would you close an open window in your basement and not report it when your child supposedly was missing?

It has been ten years since that horrible day and for me to remember what I did every moment is asking the impossible. If you had been there, you would understand the mayhem that ensued. I was out of my mind with grief.

There are thousands of documented cases of parents that have lost children to unspeakable crimes. Don’t you feel your recollection of that mornings activities would help immensely to investigators in helping to solve this case?

3.) Why is your account of the open window different from detective French and Fleet White, both of whom searched that basement as well?

Again, I was not thinking about what is the correct protocol that morning. My child was gone, I was insane. I do not even remember closing the window. I am sure that Fleet White and Detective French have memories of that morning that would reflect errors in judgment on their own parts. I do not know what Fleet Whites memory of that window being open is. I would like to know how you would react if your little girl was kidnapped.

Detective Linda Ardnt recounts of that morning report that you were cool, clam and collected. That for an hour or so, she lost track of you and when she saw you, you were flipping through the mail. Wouldn’t you have thought it was imperative to finding your daughter, to report something as important as finding an open window?

5.) Isn't it true Mr. Ramsey that Dr. Henry Lee purchased the same brand of underpants found on your daughter the night of the murder and he too was able to pull degraded DNA from those panties as well, and came to the conclusion that degraded DNA could very likely have been deposited on these underwear during the manufacturing process?

I don't know what tests Dr. Lee did. I do know the tests that the DNA experts found as I stated above. There is a killer out there.

There certainly is Mr. Ramsey, there is no arguing there. However as a father in the most notorious crime of our century, wouldn’t you want to know about the tests Dr. Lee performed? Wouldn’t you want to search every lead in this case? As a father, wouldn’t you want to know?

6.) John Ramsey, the murder of your daughter ruined many reputations and destroyed many lives. How has it affected your life and what have you done personally to help catch this so called intruder?

I would say that the media has much to do with destroying people's lives. I have hired the best minds in the country to find the murderer and we continue to this day, however, I will not give out information that may interrupt the investigation in any way. We have found substantial information in this past year (I just don't know what it is).

Would that information include forming a theory around a complete nut from a professor at CU that is interested in making documentaries about this case for self fulfillment and financial gain?
