How do you like the spotlight aimed at you JB ? He wont hesitate to do this to anyone who may help put reasonable doubt in front of the jury .

Love he has a chance to know up close and personal how that feels ..........

After today's article I wonder if he'll get up close and personal with an Upper & Lower GI Endoscope later this evening or in the next few days?! Remember the "tummy troubles" and following hospitalization he had from the last little upset? Just sayin'.....

Me thinks he do better financially if he invested stock in the company who produces TUMS.

For eight years after he graduated from law school, however, the board that screens prospective attorneys in Florida would not let him practice law. The Florida Supreme Court agreed with the decision, issuing an order in 2000 that cataloged unpaid bills, extravagant spending and other "financial irresponsibility" up to that time. Justices reserved their strongest condemnation for his failure to stay current on support payments for his only child.

His overall behavior, they wrote, showed "a total lack of respect for the rights of others and a total lack of respect for the legal system, which is absolutely inconsistent with the character and fitness qualities required of those seeking to be afforded the highest position of trust and confidence recognized by our system of law."

I have absolutely no sympathy for Mr Baez. Considering what has come to light since this case began (mostly from his own actions and statements in public), he still shows mo respect for the Judge, the court, other lawyers or people in general. I doubt if his playing the 'race card' endears him to other Hispanic people.

If Mr Baez wants to be reviewed favourably by the courts, fellow Hispanics, the media and the public in general, perhaps he should concentrate on doing his job, quietly, with dignity, and to the best of his ability.

A legal trial that ends in a life or death decision for the client has no room for grandstanding, personal ego, extravagant financial advancement, or games.

Hopefully the Florida Bar Review will take care of Mr Baez's problems and defense lawyers everywhere can breath a sigh of relief that no one is making their jobs even harder.

All of the facts that came out in this article by the Orlando Sentinel have me convinced more than ever that Jose is only in this for the money and could care less about Casey's rights to a fair trial.

It seems he has had debt problems and no fiscal responsibilty his whole adult life. For example in 2000 the Florida Supreme Court "cataloged unpaid bills, extravagant spending and other "financial irresponsibility" up to that time. Justices reserved their strongest condemnation for his failure to stay current on support payments for his only child." In addition to this he has declared personal bankruptcy once, defaulted on a student loan and wrote a bad check. The same time he had these debts the Bar investigators say Jose was spending money on unnecessary things like leasing a car and participating in a foreign study program.

The failure to pay child support says so much about Jose's character in my opinion. He only had one child and it was only $200 a month. From the divorce in 1993 to 2004 he accumulated $12,000 in back child support. At $200 a month that means he missed 60 payments. 60 payments!! That's five years out of eleven, or 45% of the payments. I can understand if someone is between jobs and misses 3 or 4 months, but I can not understand missing 60 months, sorry, no way Jose.

When he landed the job as Casey's lawyer, all he saw were $ signs. He doesn't care about her rights at all as long as he stays in limelight and the money keeps rolling in from anonymous donors, media licensing rights or wherever. JMO.

How much do you wanna bet he files for a change of venue in Miami where there is a very large Hispanic population? That could work in his favor, but it could also hurt it since KC claimed a Hispanic woman kidapped Caylee.

I think there's a good possibility that's exactly what he wants. Yes, ZFG is supposed to be Hispanic, but he could use the large Hispanic population to further the idea that LE never found the "right" ZFG. He also has some ties to that area when he worked for the PD's office. The release of this article also makes me wonder if it was all part of a plan for him to show the judge that it would be impossible for his client to get a fair trial in Orange Co.? :waitasec: MOO

Here's the article to back up my post about the change of venue.

Report: Casey Anthony defense team to file for change of venue

Does anyone know if there is already a thread on this subject? I didn't find one in a search.

I tried to fnd one but couldn't.

We also don't have a thread for todays news! :waitasec:

I still would like to know the real story of how he became KC's attorney. She told her family that another inmate told her he was good and she said "pass my name along to him" :waitasec: So, presumably HE contacted HER after that. Doesn't make sense. I still think she knew him already. I just would like to know how. Maybe KC was a bikini model. LOL!

This is JMHO. I have always wondered if she was an escort and he was a client of hers at one time.:waitasec:

Well, I can't speak for the men in the Hispanic Community but I can tell you rat now that he better not have any Hispanic Women on that jury. LMAO They will chew her up and spit her out.

Also I heard that the Judge says where the trial will be. That JB just can't say he wants to go "here" and it be "here"?

Tsk.. Tsk.. Tsk... His actions doesn't surprise me. No wonder they're a team... they're two peas in a pod... No good character. :furious:

Change of venue ~ Baez wants to move the trial since he doesn't believe he'll find an impartial jury in Orange Co. I wonder why!!! :D

Wonder if he'd like Volusia County?

Wonder if he'd like Volusia County?
I actually think he's probably going to want Dade Co. ~ but it will be up to the judge, not Baez. :)

Bold by me.

Excellent points, Paintr.

I'm reminded of so many little indignities just within in the court itself: being mouthy with Ashton and saying, 'Are you mad?'; the pen incident; the smuggled bracelet incident, etc.

I'm sure there are many defense lawyers who are not pleased to be lumped in with the likes of JB - personally or professionally.

I'm now beginning to wonder about the defense team he's assembled for Casey ~ if they'll want to continue? I'm mainly thinking about LKB and Lenemann. :waitasec:
