It has everything to do with JB-he thinks it's all about him!! NOBODY brought up race-HE did!! I tend to think it's something he and GR thought up while crusing. This is all about distraction from the evidence! They want us to pay attention to the clowns-not what's happening in the center ring!
But, JB prolly thinks Miami will love him and since it's a party town-KC's "ugly coping" will be understood.:banghead:

tend to agree with you regarding the race card and gr...I even noticed this weekend in when Kimberly Gilford (sp?) intro--they now have mention her being hispaniic....I just wish we could acknowledge people as who they truly are not by race.....silly me grew up in the 60-70's when we were taught to look at the person not the color/race....

Do you by any chance have that picture out of the local paper yesterday in Florida with the Baez/Rivera boating depicted? LOL

I wasn't sure where to put this but I think it is quite interesting... and worth the read..

Spotlight brings heat for ex-Dade defender
Former Miami-Dade public defender Jose Baez finds controversy in his first high-profile case.

http://www.miamiherald.com/news/florida/story/1034150.html

Well, now the Miami area will not only have an unpopular defendant, they will be getting her deadbeat, non-child supporting, irresponsible and arrogant lawyer too.

Scroll to picture 6.
It says:
During the summer of 2008, Christina was hired by her father, Jose Baez, to handle all media relations in the Casey Anthony case and the search for her missing daughter, Caylee Anthony. During this period, Christina handled all national and local media appearances for her father in print, network and cable television, and radio. Christina has worked closely with major print publications such as People magazine and the Orlando Sentinel.
(How interesting, I thought Todd Black was doing all of that?)

In that little snipet about his daughter it goes on to say she worked closely with ABC Good morning America, etc. So this explains the ABC deal for $200K for pictures and videos of KC and Jose denying he did sell them, technically his daughter did? Would this hair splitting be tolerated by the judge if she did indeed do this while employed by him? I'd love to see that contract/bill of sale/copy rights whatever title they give it.

Baez is defending a client who, if convicted, could be sentenced to death, and yet he is focusing on the sideshow. :waitasec:

Let's see ... we've got "ugly coping" and now "selective reasoning". What's next? :Banane57:

Easiest way to pull off a crime-create a distraction!! KC getting off for any reason would be a crime!!:behindbar

Defense in all its glory is going to to use situational derangement causing KC to steal monies for retail therapy while running amuck trying to locate her daughter. LOl!

Maybe by focusing on the sideshow he can avoid facing the reality that his client is guilty of killing her 2 year old daughter and will more than likely be sentenced to life in prison or death.

Doesn't it remind you of a barker carnie guy at the fair trying to entice you into the big tent for the main attraction and when you take the bate of the sideshow dancers your left feeling, "Is that all there is?!!"

Snipped from the article:

"In January 2007, four months before he bought a $670,000 waterfront home in a country-club community, Baez was held in contempt of court for failing to pay $4,000 in child support, according to Miami-Dade Clerk of Court records."

$670,000 waterfront home in a country-club community, and he REFUSES (because he was held in contempt) to pay $4,000 in child support. This is a slap in the face to his child and all other single mothers out there struggling to get by without support. I'm glad this news came out and that it's following him! :furious: IMO he seems to have no regard for children. :loser: JMO

I wonder when his support was actually paid up/off. Wonder if it was after he jumped on the KC gravy train?

How Can Jose Baez Be Lead Lawyer In The Casey Anthony Case -- No Death Qualified Attorney Has Been On The Record Since Terry Lenamon Left
http://backseatlawyer.blogspot.com/2009/05/how-can-jose-baez-be-lead-lawyer-in.html

This article raises an excellent point. If JB is not DP qualified or meets criteria for lead counsel, and his team has not identified who will be taking the reins, is it even proper for him to continue to file motions and make formal requests in this case?

Can we unleash the lawyers please??

Hello there, sunshine! :blowkiss:

I am not an attorny but I do believe the KC team has one hidden in their back pocket, ready to be produced just before trial accompanied by a drumroll! There will be great proclamations declaring that this defense attorny just had to step in to protect poor little KC from being wrongfully convicted by the big bad legal system. The courts may know that a qualified DP lawyer has been 'retained' by KC. That doesn't mean that we have to know.

I have little doubt this purchase was in anticipation of all the $$$$ he expected to make on the Nilton Diaz case

Per JB's quote - what in the world makes him think he is "young" at 40??? LOL!

I asked this question on another thread and was advised that it may not happen until trial. I am soooooo confused by this............how can a lawyer not qualified to handle a dp case be in charge of strategy/filing motions/giving press conferences???? Just seems like an appeal waiting to happen to me.

I'm not sure, but it looks like those are mandatory qualifications if the court has to appoint an attorney for the defendant. Isn't that how it reads? So if KC has retained Baez on her own, does he have to be DP qualified? I'm thinking not, but I don't know.
