Details of Disappearance
Josephine and her younger sister, Joyce Cogburn, were staying at family friend's apartment in Norman, Oklahoma. The individual reported the sisters' disappearance on October 2, 1983. He claimed that Josephine and Joyce voluntarily left his home to go the library and never returned. They have never been heard from again. Foul play is suspected in their cases.
Josephine and Joyce's family lived in Broken Bow, Oklahoma in 1983, but they had moved in with the family friend because of problems at home. They may have been involved with drugs at the time of their disappearances. Neither sister's names, birth certificates or Social Security numbers (SSNs) have been used since October 1983. Their disappearances remain unsolved.
