Thinking about this new show with Jessa and Jill. I think TLC decided sympathy would be with the 'victims' and nobody would say about the girls having a show.

However with Jill and her husband pretending to be missionaries while flying back and forth on somebody's dime to film a TLC show I wonder how much missionary work is being done.

I am sure Jessa wants the same big show Jill had when she gives birth in November and I am sure she will get it.

These girls may appear humble with their long hair and skirts and reading the bible but I think their true colors of liking things $$ can buy and all the publicity and free stuff that goes with it is being shown now.

Honestly I think TLC, JB and M have created a monster.

Outside of the context of their absurdly large, sanctimonious family, what possible interest would the viewing public have in these two unemployed, under-educated, moralistic young women? It's not like they're the only young mothers out there. I suspect that they're boring people. What are they going to do -- share hairstyling tips (like use lots of Aqua Net)? Reminisce about their awful TV show? Moralize? Sing the praises of their parents?

I don't think that TLC has thought this through. Perhaps they're just throwing this up the flagpole to see who salutes, but I think it will be a pair of very dull programs.

TLC has made them all 'stars'. They have applied the makeup and written scripts and the public bought it hook, line and sinker.

Jessa and Jill rose to tv fame with their weddings with thousands attending and setting up their homes and welcoming a first baby to Jill. Fans watched, sent gifts and were all over social media with the excitement of 'what's next'.

They rose out of the ashes like most reality tv stars tend to do. Look at Bachelor Nation and the Bachelorette group of young lovelys. They have groupies from all over following them. Little People Big World has lots of followers.

Now the fall from grace for Josh and also JB and M for not doing anything about it. I also fault TLC because I shall never believe they didn't have a hint of what was going on.

But they show was mighty to a whole bunch of people and the sponsors were paying big bucks each week so the show must go on.

Then came the fall. So TLC is picking up and hoping things will return to their 'normal'. People forgiving them, supporting the 'girls' and the sponsors sending more $$$.

Reality tv at it's best.

I thought Anna's parents were encouraging her to stay with Josh and yhe siblings who are trying to get her to leave are estranged from the family.

I kind of get the feeling Anna is a woman without a country.

Anna came from very humble beginnings. She too has a large family and I believe her father is dedicated to working with prisoners as his life work.

They live in Florida in a not so large trailer.

The Duggers might have requested she return home to her family during this time. Four young children are a lot of work and I am not sure JB and M would welcome that added chore right now.

They are trying to save TLC for their family. Plus they have more grandchildren to assist with. Most of us have agreed that Michelle assigns the young ones to older ones so there might not be a lot of helping hands.

Perhaps the Duggers suggested Anna visit and stay with her parents in Florida until Josh is released.

Does anyone really think that Josh did a whole lot to help with the kids?
I think that is likely one thing Anna is not missing... I doubt he helped much anyway. :twocents:

I thought TLC stood for The Learning Channel? Who the heck runs this so-called network?

I went to the LA screening of Prophet's Prey last week and I will say that Sam Brower (The PI that helped hunt down Warren Jeffs and wrote a book that the documentary is based on) said that the way TLC has portrayed polygamy has actually hurt his (and others) ability to get people in mainstream society to understand how devastating polygamy is and what a lie it is and how these folks live off our government while breaking that same governments laws.

I cannot stand how they have made this fundamentalist family "stars" with "fans".

I would really like to understand the true agenda behind these shows aired by TLC - I don't think its as simple or innocent as they would like any of us to believe. If it is all about the mighty dollar then I am even more disgusted than ever before.

Why do intelligent, hardworking, law abiding citizens support these hidden agendas? I honestly want to understand.

It sounds more like the source thinks there's no telling what else dear old Josh has been up to and is afraid that more revelations might be coming up

It does. Years ago, when I only had basic cable, for awhile before the cable company discovered that, TLC was one of the extended cable channels I was getting for free. It had much better programming back then, although alot of it was animal mating, it was still "educational". That was before they started putting on garbage like Honey BooBoo and the Duggars. I haven't watched it in years, glad now.
