ETA: OK, I think I answered my own question -- he was convicted in federal court so sentencing would be delayed versus a state court.

But did he have a "history"? Josh also has the molestation history, just not across state lines. The biggest thing is, JF pled guilty. This would have lowered his sentence.

ATI/IBLP is a ministry started by sexual harasser Bill Gothard. It outlines teachings that members tend to follow such as how women should wear their hair (wavy and long) makeup, clothes (modesty), how to address and cope with abuse, including sexual abuse, domestic violence, etc., adoption, whether women should work, if so, what capacity, education, their own paramilitary group, etc. (IMO, based on years of research).

The Duggars were highly involved when their kids were growing up. Some of the second generation seems a bit less so. The Bates family is also heavily involved.

That is scary. I wonder if Josh Duggar has any other psychopathy traits? His psych eval should be interesting reading.

The real question is, was he a potential serial killer? Could someone go from fantasies about hurting children to killing them? It really makes you wonder if he "stealth" hurt and molested his own children. Or any other children he has had contact with.

Anna and her children are probably much safer with Josh locked up. I worry that he could have been on the edge of being a family annihilator. Scary!

The man is sick and deserves to spend the rest of his life behind bars and away from any children. That said, he was raised in a family that did "blanket training" (Did TLC witness the Duggar children being physically abused? (with a rod)) and followed Gothard. His world view is warped. What we know here is that JD was an adolescent with admitted deviant behavior (conduct disorder) that in adulthood, seemingly progressed to deviant, violent, fantasies.

I think this monster had become insatiable-- where fantasizing no longer satisfied him and he had to seek real imagery of his fantasies and acted to download and possess child (recently convicted).

And now to learn that he was also allegedly looking for particularly extreme forms of child (i.e., hurtcore), I think he's definitely following a pattern. However, IMO, the question of if/when he would act on his fantasy is probably best answered by professionals.

My problem with federal courts is the drawn-out delivery for sentencing! He was indicted in late April of this year, and already tried and convicted but sentencing is not expected for four more months...

btw they sent Josh to their policeman friend for ‘counseling’ at 15 I think. That policeman is now serving time for csam.

I am not sure that we can generalize how Josh Duggar behaved with Danica Dillion to how he treated any other women, whom he felt were "virtuous".

Josh Duggar is an interesting case. He could literally be a graduate psychology thesis. His documented family history, criminal record, and other information in the media.

Sad to also think about his young wife. She probably believed "submitting" would cure him of his urges and he'd slowly but surely be transformed into a devoted husband. (I cringe at even the idea of him as a father so I won't go there).
