Josh Powell Detained While Investigators Search Home

I watched Fox13now live at noon and they said the computers would be sent to a FBI lab but the lab is backed up so don't be expecting to hear anything soon even said possibly months...darn. I'll wait but hope they are wrong about the months statement!

I've always leaned toward vomit myself. The report from a friend that she was tired and wozzy on the Sunday afternoon she last saw her, it just makes sense to me because I think he drugged her. And NOW I absolutley think it was planned with Stevie. In those long convo's leading up to her disappearance.

yes, vomit!! Good catch. I agree with you. The Le didn't find any blood or other DNA correct? I think you are on the right track.

There's been mention many times of the spot being red....even SP has mentioned it...and saying it was juice. I don't think it was blood, because JP wasn't arrested...but?? I've always been curious about it because it was beneath the couch, irrc.

What I can't understand about Mr. C wondering about the emegency room is....if it was an emergency and they would have been at the hospital...then why would they take the time to clean the carpet before going? Doesn't make sense. imo

If you are poisoned you may throw up 'red' vomit for whatever reason. Or if she was given juice with the drug/poison in it. Seeing how JP said it was 'juice or something' it sounds like he did mix something with the juice he served her.
And she spilled it or she threw it up.

Steve said he was transcribing her journals and was going to put them online. He needed a computer for that. Plus everything else they can find!!! Computers relate to his intentions of publishing the journals online.

Hope that his vehicle is searched as well as any computers he has access to at his work place.

Steven Powell says pictures, videos and journals belonging to both himself and his missing daughter-in-law, Susan Cox Powell, were taken by West Valley police during an 8 ½ hour search of his home Thursday.

.... They were about to end the search at 9:45 p.m., when a discussion during their final briefing prompted them to give a potential piece of evidence one final look, said West Valley Police Lt. Bill Merritt. In doing so, investigators ended up finding additional information and searching Powell's home for another 90 minutes. West Valley police didn't wrap up their search until about 11:15 p.m.

Police said Thursday's search warrant was not connected to last weekend's search outside of Ely.

When asked by "Dateline" what he would tell people who think he killed his wife, Josh Powell said: “I've never hurt my wife. I've never, never hurt her. I've tried to defend her. She's been suffering, she has very low self-esteem because of severe emotional abuse as a child. She's had to live with that, and I've had to try to help her get through that kind of on a regular basis.”

Sounds like they have an idea of what happened to me! Oh please God, let there be an arrest soon of the guilty party(ies).

I agree. I think if it were Susan's blood they would have arrested Josh already.
But it may have been some other kind of bodily fluids.

I think the most plausible scenario is that Susan was angry and voiced her plans to separate and wanted Josh to leave the house. He probably
escalated things and needed to move her from the scene. I think he involved dad in that process somehow.

ETA: I just read a few posts above with a better scenario. Josh made her special pancakes, drugged her, and had planned it with dad.

Not positive that I am remembering correctly, but wasn't it scrambled eggs (maybe with some hot spicy stuff in it)

Also, I thought I remembered that Josh was talking about moving back to WA, but Susan didn't want to go, didn't want to leave her job at WF, didn't want to leave her friends, her ward. T.P. (neighbor) was convinced that the plan was to stay around in WVC long term and built the swingset for the children to enjoy for the long term.

just found an old article - pancakes and eggs for dinner

http://www.sltrib.com/news/ci_14000824

On Dec. 6, she was at the Powells' home, helping Susan untangle yarn, and joined the family for a dinner of pancakes and scrambled eggs that Joshua Powell made.

JP's comment was interesting. He was asked where he thinks they should look for Susan and he says someone who wants to come back, who doesn't know how to come back.

Wonder if he hopes she'd come back. Divorce gets a bad rap sometimes but it has its good sides. LE rarely searches your home because you got divorced.

Josh looks as if he has put vaseline under his eyes to look like tears.

I was listening to the news report last night of the search and jp being detained outside the home. There was also mention that the 2 boys were in the back yard w/some 'friendly' police [press words]. I though of how jp must finally be worrying and a big smile broke out on my face; a nice way to fall asleep.

The friendly police officers were feeding the boys pizza.
It wasn't much later, that Josh and the boys went to McDonald's.

Even if the lab is backed up, priority cases are still processed first.
There are also contractors who can do the work, for the FBI, if someone wants to cough up the extra money.

ALSO: "deleted" information (even from the computer trash can) is easy to retrieve.
Things don't get dicey, until the deleted files are overwritten; that's when the
forensics have to delve into layers of data.

Websearch history (especially things like maps) can be retrieved from online sources, too.
Especially if the user has logged in to the mapping website.

Steven Powell says Susan pressed her breast into his hands tightly and wouldn't let his hands go!

Okay so Susan as a newlywed is living with her husband, father-in-law, a couple of brother-in-laws and a sister-in-law. She keeps making sexual advances towards the old man, but not Josh's brothers? Not neighbors, not co-workers.... just old man Powell?

In another interview I heard Steven claim that Susan would come into his office after she took a shower and lay her head in his lap and tell him to smell her hair. To me, he is just making up new lyrics for his songs.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...e-husband-father-law-missing-Utah-mother.html (link that mentions the smelling her hair)

In KOMO link:
On Friday morning, Steve Powell said police also took his personal journals and videos he had taken of Susan.

"I didn't want them to have my journals," he told KOMO News. "There's very embarrassing things in my journals."

So now...Did they take Josh's journal's also? How old are SP's journals they confiscated, since he stopped attending the LDS church? I'm sure they will tell a story. :shocked2:Did he continue with his journalizing? I'd place a bet on yes.

Investigators have declined to discuss what pieces of evidence they gathered.

"What we have here today will help us draw closer to a conclusion," Merritt said. "Whether it's the conclusion that everybody wants and hopes for, we don't know. It may be a conclusion that nobody wants to admit could happen."

What could this mean? She did leave on her own? LE told Mr C that didn't happen:
Cox said regardless of what Josh and Steve Powell have said, detectives have already proven their claims to be wrong.

"What the police have released is that they're sure that there's nothing to the theory that Susan went off on her own. And they basically have gone on record about that issue. That helps a lot. And they've clearly said that Josh is still a person of interest, because that's clearly contrary to what Josh is saying."
