Josh Powell's House in WA blows up

It would not have mattered if she had called 911 the house would have blown up regardless
. The case worker is not at fault in any way shape or form.

Probably wouldn't matter in this case but could well matter in other cases. Frankly I can not understand this rule. Don't tell that if one smells gas one is supposed to call their supervisor instead of 911 because apparently one isn't considered capable of figuring that it's an emergency.

I doubt it very much...but I guess there is a 1% chance...
Although what if he didn't die from the explosion, was only injured ? No, I don't think he would ever confess.

I think an article quoted above says the e-mail was just three words: "I'm sorry, goodbye."

Here I was posting on FB whining about how much I dislike the Giants and Mannings, & I see Tricia's post and couldn't believe what I read. I, like many of you, am speechless and I'm very upset. He was a nutcase and this was almost sure to happen if he were to continue to be around them.

My question - how in the heck did he get a rental home?? He has no job, and did the person who rented it to him live under a rock??? Not that it makes much difference now.

This is BS. I feel so bad for the Cox's . First Susan and now her kids. At least they are together now.

I am in total and utter shock. Why? Why? Why? SO devastated and angry...can't even put my words and thought together right now. While most of the country is wrapping up Super Bowl celebrations... Seems Like we are all grieving here. God bless you all...

After reading Tricia's post on facebook....and it would NOT sink in...I thought...nooooo noooo nooo..I came here to read. To say I am shocked would be an understatement. I thought that given the kids were now with Susan's folks they were safe. I have been crying for the last hour. I can't believe he did that. WHY......WHY did he have to take those babies???

I need to understand this and maybe Gitana can help me but the question is this- If the Coxes could see he was a danger to them, We here at WS could see he was a danger to them, Kirsi could see it and the LE probably felt it Why didn't the courts see it? This last psychological eval where they recommended the new psycho sexual eval, why couldn't they see it? It should have been noted in the report.

Why weren't the visits in another place? All anybody had to do was listen to his ramblings, take a good look at him and see it?

Where did the ball drop here? I honestly think LE did all they could and you know the Grandparents did all they could, so where in the system was the problem? The judge, the dept of Social Services. (definitely not the poor social worker today, don't even go there)

I agree with all who said as long as there's evaluations left he should have had no contact. I do have to say that LE should have been an escort and they probably would have been glad to do so if needed.

Any parent who is the primary suspect in the murder of their girlfriend, wife or whatever should never have custody of the children till they are cleared? Is that what needs to be done?

I have not been this upset since Ethan Stacey and Zahra. There Ethan was put in the middle of abusers because this unhuman was his mother. What is the answer?

I hope that autopsies with DNA tests are conducted (unless they were still clearly identifiable).

I hope that autopsies with DNA tests are conducted (unless they were still clearly identifiable).

Hopefully they could ID them by dental records, it's much faster than DNA.

From your mouth.....

Except he might be the only one left who knows where Susan is. Maybe they can work out a deal.

Never gonna happen josh and his father are made of the same stuff. It pleased the hell out of Josh and his father that Susan would never be found and would never get a proper burial. And for them the cherry on top is that it devastated the Coxes.

I'm sure that Josh left this world with a you know what eating grin. He got the ultimate eff you to the Coxes.

I hope the devil himself is wiping that **** eating grin right off his face tonight.

Oh no! I can't believe it, those poor boys. And the Coxes.

I didn't realize the visitations were occuring at Josh's house, I guess I assumed it was at a neutral location.

I remember he attached emails between himself and CPS about visitation, to a declaration a few months ago. I seem to recall something about asking for more time, or unmonitored visits or something. Maybe they felt supervised visits at his home would be okay. They were wrong.

the mind races...

what is his lawyer feeling right now?

and the judge...

Yet, who can predict such a thing?

So many of us predicted this. Most of us following the thread were positive that he would kill himself and his kids if LE got closer or he lost more control. I didn't know, though, that visits were at his home and not at a facility. Of course, he could have blown up a facility as well. This is the worst.

Susan's poor, poor parents. Oh, how they must feel right now. Their daughter taken from them, murdered, and then humiliated in public by two cowards who tried to hard to smear her name. On top of that, they wouldn't let them have any of Susan's personal effects and worse, kept them from her kids.

Finally, they get the kids and now this? I hope they can withstand this. What a sickening tragedy for this family.

I hope in this case "suicide watch" means they will just sit by and observe Steven Powell kill himself. I think he's too ego-maniacal to do us the favor, though. I am glad Josh is dead. I am that petty. But those beautiful babies dying has me bawling my eyes out. RIP Susan, Charlie and Braden.

Steve Powell's "suicide watch" is nothing more than a publicity stunt designed to keep him in the media and have people feeling sorry for Joshie's dad. Boo Hoo  The "suicide watch" takes pressure off the evil acts of SP's cowardly son, too. No sympathy for either of them from me, and both will reap what they sowed. jmo

I haven't read all the postso someone might have mentioned this. But I am thinking he must have been very worried about having that psycho-sexual testing done. I will never understand why he couldn't have just killed himself and left the children alone.

I agree the whole system needs to be looked at now. How and where supervised visit are to be just not in Wash. Be in the entire country. But please when you go lot bed tonight not only say a prayer for Susan family but also for this case worker whor for the rest of her life will have this memory in burned in her mind forever.

I'm wondering if "I'm sorry, goodbye" - was one e-mail, but sent to a list.

I'm wondering what Josh was "sorry" for? Exactly how big a "sorry" was that?
A confession?

grrrrrrrrrrr :banghead: :banghead:

I have not made it through the entire thread but I had to comment. I have also cried since I found this. I feel for both families. Maybe not JP's dad but his mom and siblings. Can you imagine that your baby boy grew up to do these things? Or your brother? Your son? It was still their grandsons and nephews. They are hurting too. Hindsight is 20/20. Can anyone here honestly predict everything their spouse/child/cousin/parent/relative will do? It is easy to judge when it is not your situation.

I understand ... but actually, my question was intended to be about
HIS lawyer, who could have known his fragile state and ordered psych care ...

and the judge, who has such nice red nails, but no balls or common sense. :cowcouch:

Sounds about right. Blame the messenger.

Steve Powell is a narcissist and sociopath just like Josh. He cannot feel real human emotions and probably isn't terribly sorry about Josh and the boys. He doesn't really love his kids any more than Josh loved his. They are possessions to be manipulated for the good of the puppetmaster. No more that that. Now that he is in jail, that is his only concern. The puppets are on their own. If he gets out before he leaves his wretched existence, well, he'll expect to pick up where he left off. He won't miss Josh however, because he was just more trouble than he was worth. Josh is the reason he got caught and is in jail. Probably glad to see Josh gone, quite frankly.

This was Gwenabob's reply to a post of mine referring to the fact that Steven Powell did not seem upset when told the news just angry at the messenger.

I think Gwenabob nails it about Steve Powell and wanted to bump it up for those just coming in...
