Joshua Bishop, 23, was last seen in Lalor Crescent, in northwest Melbourne, by his housemate at 9.30pm on May 27.
Detectives were able to track his mobile phone to a park in Broadmeadows on the same day before his mother filed a missing persons report two days on May 29.
Despite an extensive police search utilising dog squads and drones Mr Bishop has so far not been found.
Mr Bishop's phone and bank accounts have been inactive since his disappearance and nobody has heard from him in more than 10 days.
His abandoned car, a white Toyota Corolla, was discovered by investigators on Ridley Street, in Albion, on Wednesday.

Associates of Joshua’s have told police they believe the vehicle had been stolen from him however this was not reported to police.

At this time, the circumstances of Joshua’s disappearance are unclear and police have not been able to rule out that it may be suspicious.

Investigators and family are increasingly concerned given the passage of time with no contact from Joshua.

Joshua has never been reported missing before and is not known to police, however detectives are investigating whether he has been involved in criminal activity.

Detectives from the Missing Persons Squad are also assisting Hume CIU detectives with this matter.

“The Erinbank Crescent townhouse is near where his phone last pinged around Broadmeadows Valley Park.

The remains are yet to be formally identified but a close friend who organised a fundraiser on behalf of the family acknowledged they belonged to Bishop.

Missing persons detectives earlier declared Bishop had no criminal links and his connection to the accused was not revealed in court.”

There is a connection with the football club. Fevola made a statement to “get Joshy home”.

The alleged murderer played for Sunbury Kangaroos up until recently. He and his 4 brothers played on the same team.

“Former AFL star Brendan Fevola issued a public call to “get Joshy home”, as Fevola knew Bishop from their involvement at the East Sunbury Football Club.”

Thanks for sharing Marg944.

RIP Josh - absolutely gut wrenching seeing any of the media from your family. Devastating that you were (allegedly) murdered and left in that house for a month.

I hope the family can finally put Josh to rest soon and justice served

Insane amount of CCTV footage in Joshua Bishop murder case

“The case of a missing man who was allegedly murdered involves a staggering amount of CCTV footage, a court has been told.

The body of missing man Joshua Bishop was allegedly found in a garage used as the bedroom of the man accused of his murder, a court has been told.
Brandon Watts, 27, was charged with murder after human remains were found at a home on Erinbank Crescent in Melbourne’s northwest in June following an investigation into Mr Bishop’s disappearance.

Mr Watts appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday as police requested more time to prepare a hand-up brief of evidence.”

Police have requested more time to go through CCTV footage from more than 42 sites. Picture: Tony Gough
Prosecutor Sharn-Adelle Coombes told the court police were requesting an additional 10 weeks to review CCTV footage – including one clip more than 300 hours long – from more than 42 sites.

Detective Acting Sergeant Charles Thompson said 13 mobile phones had also been seized from a variety of witnesses.

Mr Watts’ lawyer Martin Amad questioned Sergeant Thompson about an affidavit by lead investigator Detective Senior Constable Rebecca Cameron in support of the extension.

“It is mentioned in the affidavit of Ms Cameron that investigators located the deceased in the garage which is used exclusively by Mr Watts as his bedroom,” he said.

“Do you know what the evidence is that the garage was used exclusively by him?”
