Jr's custody issue arising from Ron's arrest

The link below gives a "guestimate" of how long different drugs stay in one's system. It's the first link I pulled and is in line with what I have seen in my experience.

http://www.ohsinc.com/how_long_do_drugs_stay_in_your_system.htm

I can personally from experience tell you that the link is wrong. I have been clean for over 20 years and I still test positive for heroin. There is something that is called a drug "half-life". That is the amount of time that some of the drug stays in the system on the cellular level. Depending on the substance it's self and the amount taken, there are some that we know have a half life of over 20 years....I am in a program, thru a major medical college that is trying to get updated information on the half life of street drugs and it looks as if some people are having false positives due to the half life of the drugs that they might have taken 20 or more years ago.

Not beating anyone down, just calling it as I see it.Making her sons circumstances better IMO is to not take drugs. He deserves better then that. He has lost his sister and his father and his fathers family due to drugs if she takes others prescription pills she is not acting in her sons best interest or her other children.Drugs have taken a toll on this child it just needs to stop IMO.I am very anti drugs when there are children involved.

I have a question for you. If you knew that someone was clean, the only thing that they have taken is what is prescribed by their medical doctor and yet they showed up with a dirty test, meaning a positive on a drug test, would you still feel the same way?

Here is my point with that question, we don't know what drugs Crystal is on. Not only for the depression and anxiety, but there is also seizure medication to be considered and I know of at least two of those that will cause a dirty test.

As to the Lortab, Vicodan, whatever you want to call it, I take them for a chronic pain issue that I have. I have taken them for months on end and never got addicted. Do I know something that these folks don't? I don't think so. Other than I take them in the prescribed dosage and I do have a set schedule for them. I know and understand that they are a hugh problem as a street or illegally obtained drug.

But I also know that I have a friend that has has been to the emergency room with the headache that he gets. He works and is without insurance because he can't afford it. Have I been known to give him one of my pills for his headache? Yes. One pill. Would I do it again? Yes, because he is trying to work and support his family. Is that illegal? Likely so, but I have seen him have the headache so bad that he is literally immobile from the pain and any attempt at movement on his part causes him to brownout at the least and on more than one occasion to blackout.

His headaches stem from a car wreck that hasn't been settled yet, so there is no help for him there. We know that the headaches didn't start until after the wreck and the medical profession is really not doing enough in my opinion to help him out.

So think about all of this before condemning someone that might not actually be guilty of what they are being accused of. Sorry for the length of the post folks.

Nonsense. No pharmaceuticals have half lives that would allow them to be detected 20 years later. If they are being detected 20 years later, it is because you have recently used them.

Right and ask any true pharmacologist what the half life is on heroin and if he tells anything other than he or she doesn't truly know, then they are not being taught that there are some drugs that we really don't know the half life of because until the last 2 or 3 decades we haven't had the testing for them.

I can honestly tell you that I have not used since before my first daughter was born and she is now 24 years old and I still test positive in the blood tests.

Otherwise I would not have been allowed to raise my daughters. Because back then they would take the children at the first sign of drug use.

Speaking of the Garden State...does anyone know what the name of Misty's boyfriend was that she ran off with to NJ when she was 15? Wonder who/if she still knows & stays in touch with anyone from there? TIA.

Michigan is another state that she has lived in. That was in the last 5 years, but I understand that while she was there she was living with Timmy. So I am not sure where they were living because I don't remember his age at the moment.

I believe that ex boyfriend is now in jail on aggravated rape charges.

Everytime Ron and Misty get into some kind of trouble - something bad to be told about Crystal follows shortly - never fails. The one thing consistent throughout this past year...

It can also be that while Ron and Misty get into spectacular and very public trouble on a regular basis, Crystal remains an addict who goes through the various stages of trying to get help, get clean and then relapses--like most of the people addicted to prescription or illegal drugs. There's a reason why addiction specialists say that addicts end up in one of two places: jail or dead. And along the way they destroy the people around them. All of the people in this case are troubled. It isn't a plot against Crystal if she STILL hasn't managed to get clean and that information gets around. It's just the truth about Crystal. So long as Haleigh's case stays in the public eye, people in the media (including bloggers) have an incentive to dig up and publish the dirt on all involved. If we castigate Ron for being so stupid as to deal drugs while under the white-hot public and legal spotlight, we can't give Crystal a pass for continuing to have trouble with drugs. And we can't blame other people for her actions. That helps her not at all. And she is the last best hope for Ron Jr. and her own kids.

From what I have read it was not her own prescription it was a friends and that is illegal. My mom when she was alive could not stand for anyone to be in pain she always wanted to help and give her pain meds, one time she gave my daughter a pain patch when I was at work.Thank God my daughter did not use it, they were recalled for killing adults because too much medicine was released killing adults no less a 12 yr old.No one wants to kill a friend or family member but it happens alot.As far as your friend believe I have had the same problem but I signed up for a medical clinic at my local hospital and was able to contact drug company to get free medicines at my clinic. We all feel for someone we know in pain but it can be deadly and it is illegal. If your friend was a person with a drug past would you still hand him a pill?Breaking the law whether we do it from our heart or to gain money is still breaking the law.

Sounds like our family. :) Just about everyone gets prescribed vicodin or lortab for something every couple years and has some left over, if not the whole bottle, and we take/share them as needed for sleep or pain, or before going to the doctor. It's very common, judging by conversations I've had with my physician friends over the years.

As long as you use common sense, not giving them to a child or someone who's allergic, or who's acutely ill and needs to be seen by a doctor now, or who can't take just what's really needed, I see nothing wrong with it, and don't think anyone would be prosecuted for it.

It's less problematic than not finishing or sharing antibiotics. That's a bad, bad idea.

You say that you haven't used in 20 years, but in the very next post you say you are on Vicodan. Well, what do you think that is? It is not exactly the same as heroin, but it is pretty darned close.

I'd be careful "giving" meds to anyone who's name is not on the bottle. LE doesn't care if you are selling them or giving them away, if you get caught you will be punished in the same manner. Giving any prescription medication to anyone other than who it is prescribed to is illegal. Antibiotic, Allergy meds, Motrin (prescription strength).. even prenatal vitamins.

ITA. Of course the drug test would come up positive for opiates if a person is taking Vicodan. An opiate is an opiate.

This whole conversation reminds me of the Seinfeld episode when Elaine takes a drug screen test for a job and fails. She tested positive for opiates and couldn't figure out why. :waitasec: Come to find out she had eaten poppy seed muffin(s)-poppy seeds are part of the opiate family!

I have to call BS on this. Unless a person has a severely damaged liver and/or renal system, opiates are metabolized and undetectable in the human system after around 36 hours. It's a matter of chemistry and metabolism.

You are still popping positive for opiates 20+ years later because you are taking hydrocodone, not because heroin is still embedded in your cells.

If that were true you would still be high.

They call it denial for a reason.

No excuses!!!!

Anxiety, depression, seizures, these are symtoms doctors can give legal prescriptions for. There is no excuse for using a drug obtained by nonlegal sources. None.

What will happne to RJ if his mother fails to clean herself up?
RJ cries when she leaves apparently and clings to her when she is with him.
He is fearful of being abandoned, or worse.
I think he knows what happened to his sister, and if not, he knows what his dad and stepmom are really like.
He needs to feel secure, and safe, and Crystal is his only stinking hope to make it through this with some sense of sanity.

So please for the love of Rj, get your act together. look him in the face as he is sleeping. How many tears did you cry for your children, and now you have the chance to be a stand up mom. So DO IT. ftloG, please!!!
Pray for Haleigh, provide and protect RJ, if you don't WHO will?
I beg you!!!!!!!!

just me.

It looks like she is doing it for her children going to rehab? It takes what it takes to sober up and stay clean. It looks like the social services are working with her because her children were not taken out of her house.I do know people can and do sober up and stay clean and can and do have long term sobriety. This program of AA and NA and CA and others does works if you work it.I will not condemn her.I will try and help her.I will love and support her all I can.I pray she can stay strong. You can do it crystal. You really can. From the AA big book from join the tribe Take my hand.Walk with me up Twelve steps of Recovery to peace.

I am an addict and until only a few short years ago I was raising my own child while using. I do not judge this woman (or any other human) on her possible addiction... I just acknowledge it's there. I believe that if she is not already straight this (getting her son back) will be a huge motivator for her. I wish her nothing but the best, she is IMO her childrens best hope!

Another one bites the dust-Brandon Beardsley is no longer representing RC on issues for Jr.

2010-01-28 082.NOTICE OF NON REPRESENTATION:BRANDON BEARDSLEY

I am surprised there are no court docket entries about the temp. custody.
