Judge sets rules for behavior at Casey Anthony trial

Thank You for this link !

:great::great::great::great::great::great:

"There shall be no gestures, facial expressions, or the like, suggesting approval or disapproval during the proceedings."

:great::great::great::great::great::great:

"No gum chewing ..."

:great::great::great::great::great::great::great:

It looks like HHJP will be running a "very tight ship" !

What will those 2 do? No facial expressions!!! They sure aren't going to like this at all! I hope they don't file a motion to excuse them from these rules. Hey, knowing them ya know, in their mind no rule but their rule applies....:loser::banghead:

:waitasec::waitasec:

Do you think this would work ??

So, if one feels that one simply cannot contain a facial expression, one must walk, with proper decorum, as quickly as one can, exerting full control over one's facial expression, outside, to one of the designated free speech zones, whereupon one may allow one's face to explode into the expression of one's choice.

I love it.

From everything I've seen so far, HHMP is running a tight ship. I doubt he's going to grant the Anthony's motion to be excluded from sequestration. I also think he'll deny the motion from Mark Lippman to seal video visitations as this is not HHMP's jurisdiction. Mr. Lippman's motion needs to be made in another court.

I was glad to see that courtroom decorum will be observed with no gum chewing, food, drinks, electronic devices like cell phones, no facial expressions, etc. I think we'll see a much different courtroom than we've seen during hearings.

Judge Eaton said yesterday he would deny their motion without a hearing.

i wish there was a 1-800 number we could call to report any of the above as we see it occur....:innocent:

I do feel that Judge Perry has been lenient so far in the courtroom. However, with this being a highly publicized case and the tensions that are sure to arise in the courtroom, I'm glad to see that he intends to keep everyone on their best behavior. I do have to wonder though, after reading his rules of decorum, if the Anthony's have finally realized that they have been very rude and disrespectful in their behaviors up to this point. I would be embarrassed to death to realize that for myself.

I have always felt that you should behave and dress for a courtroom exactly the way you would for church. That's an easy one to comprehend - I think.

I wish that were the case but I doubt it. The Anthonys think that the world revolves around them and I'd bet a quarter that George and Cindy will try to walk in there with Caylee pin or something. I'd almost guarantee it.

Wonder if Lee and Mallory will show up in shorts?? That to me was appalling. No clue whatsoever.

Well, it will be "batter up" soon. And away we go.

Orange-Osceola Chief Judge Belvin Perry put in place rules Wednesday governing how members of the public may get seats in court for the upcoming Casey Anthony trial and how protesters will be permitted to assemble outside the courthouse.

Roughly 50 seats in the Orange County Courthouse's 23rd floor courtroom will be made available to the public each day of the trial. Members of the public will be able to line up outside the courthouse on trial days. Seating passes will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis at about 8 a.m. and again at 1 p.m. each day.

Since this original post mentions seating chart and that was just posted in News thread - I grabbed a snip of it.

I would be "delighted" to handle all the calls and complaints !

Hi BeanE: I love that you're lovin it. lol

Those court rules for behavior seem so reasonable. I don't believe I would have such a harsh opinion of the Anthony(s) if they had behaved in a respectful way during the hearings.
This is my first post, although I am a long time lurker here, and (rightfully so) I am a bit intimidated to post anything along all the brilliant writing here. (rightfully so)

It looks like HHJP will be running a "very tight ship" !

Amil reported from Monday's hearing that when Ms Mercier commented to HHJP that the parents had made appearances before media ( and were part of the problem) CA said "Excuse Me!" obviously loud enough for Amil to hear.
She can control that if she wishes,but chooses not to.Rules were not meant for the Anthonys.

Thanks for this info ... I read some of Amil's posts but must have missed this one.

:waitasec:

Maybe HH Judge Perry could order some "court watchers" for the Trial ?

Any "Volunteers" ? :crazy:

He's saying it but we'll have to see if he follows through. So far not so much.

Nothing about falling asleep :innocent:

I do hope JB realizes this applies to him as well.(I think it does) He has the most arrogant smirks that I believe will grate on the jurors nerves.

It seems that HHMP has been going easy on the A's thus far...although the continued gum chewing by CA IMO is direct disrespect to his Honor and is done intentionally. He has done a remarkable job at not enforcing his rules and at times I have been very angry that he has been so lenient. I must assume he has been lax so as not to unnecessarily create more fodder for the media and the A's.............but come trial............he doesn't have to be so kind...........

I totally agree, I think he has been paying close attention and has been lax with all the pre trial hearings but I think the trial will be totally different and if you can't obey the rules then you'll have to face the consequences. Judge Perry did let both George and Cindy know that he would not tolerate their disrespect when they were on the stand and started to cross the line and he wasn't all that tough on them then BUT he got his point across at the time. I think things will change once the actual Trial starts and he makes sure everyone, even the Anthony's tow the line!
