He is only dangerous between the hours of 8am - 4pm.......

Think I may have misunderstood every weekday??? I always think of that as Mon to Friday.

Mmmmm I would love to know if there are any other cases of assessment that have been carried out like this . It seems like special treatment on the face of it .
Anyone in SA know of any?

Hippity skippity day y'all. Good morning/afternoon/evening from North Carolina, USA. Did I mention it is 3:57am??

All the waiting, and then we get five mins of court!

Disappointed there was no new thread.

Well, that proceeding was short and sweet. So Oscar gets to sleep nights at uncles' luxury home.

Too bad................

That's what I call a quickie...the hearing of course.

So basically, it seems it will be entirely up to the docs how long OP spends at the hospital each day.

It is going to be a hassle for him having to travel there and back every day though, no matter how long he has to spend there, I guess....

I am disappointed. It does seem like special treatment.

How far is the hospital from Uncle Arnold's house, anyone?

  • #393
OP just looked bored during all that.

Didn't he ..

.. I thought he was looking rather well, too . . not really surprising considering all this holiday (from the trial/jail) he's been having.

  • #394
He should have to hang out in the common room until 1600 rather than get to leave early.

  • #395
Well that's all folks.......back to bed for me......arg...June 30th.....wish we could know what is going on . Updates from the hospital/mental ward

Disappointed he got outpatient.

IMHO His family looking smug.

IMHO He seems smug.

I am upset that he wasn't hauled away, now, but will "present himself" on May 26th.

Special treatment. I'm sick of it.

I know there is a long wait for beds BUT revoke bail today and make him wait - 2 weeks, 2 months, 2 years, like everyone else.

Didn't like M'lady having a big smile at the end.

Court records to be given to psychiatrists.
Matter be postponed till 30 June.

Meanwhile, I am dying of old age here! June 30 indeed.

it will be like being in the witness stand for Oscar for 8 hours a day for 30 days.. except for weekends..

none of these psyches are on his payroll. none on uncle arthurs payroll.

This seems like a vacation compared to court. He goes from 9am until 4 pm every weekday, or until he is dismissed for the day, and talks to the assigned shrinks?

He will appreciate the personal attention and will cry on cue, imo.

He is only dangerous between the hours of 8am - 4pm.......

Masipa has made no order for a "mental state evaluation" (MSE) to ascertain "if subject is a danger to himself or others", only MSE for "capicity" (I think she did) and and MSE for "mental state at time of offence" (MSO or MSE-Offence).

Not surprising because a) he has no priors in killing people, b) he's been out on bail for over a year and not killed anyone else, c) Vorster did not say he was a danger to society in his present state.
