Karr A Possible Krank?

Hmmmm, I know PhDs who can't spell - or write either - unfortunately.

During the course of my career I've worked in school districts for PhDs and for attorneys in law offices, and have learned that their degree of education has absolutely nothing to do with their ability (or lack thereof) to write an intelligible sentence!

Apparently the principal of the school who had hired him when he lived in Petaluma, CA felt he was a less than able to teach elementary school students. "After observing him, Raines said he concluded Karr hadn't been trained, had poor skills keeping classes focused and was ineffective."

he was described today in alabama (from peers and instructors at UNA) that he was hyper active. i didnt detect so much hyper anything today. but you never know.

It's sounding right now much like someone wanting to get out of Thailand desperately over some trouble there, rather than a solved Ramsey case at this point.

That's exactly what I told hubby. Something is not right. As much as I think the Boulder DA would like to stick it to this guy (since he confessed), I don't believe they are going to be able to do it.

There's something going on here...and I personally don't think he had anything to do with JonBenet's death. If he did, then I hope they get him, but I think he's lying.

WOW.....what did todays news say........... hummmm, that he WAS a teacher like I said and that there is DNA linking him to the crime...like I said.

He was never a teacher in Boulder (at least that's what I have read). I don't believe there will be DNA linking him to the crime (only my opinion). His family has video of him at Christmas in Alabama. As much as I would like to see him be the guy...I don't think he is. Something isn't right.

And that's not very nice talking that way to Tybee.

Karr claims to have drugged her (seen that a couple different places), but I looked at the website with her autopsy photos and report just earlier this week and it stated no drugs in her system.

Am I remembering all this right?

I believe you are. I think I heard (and remember reading) that there was no evidence of drugs. Sadly, I think he's just a nut who for some reason decided to do this. It's not adding up.

After watching some news today, here is my take on John Karr:

IMO, John Karr is a nutcase. He did not do it. There are too many unanswered questions and doubt.

For example: his ex wife insists, he spent Christmas 1996 with her and their children hundreds of miles away from Colorado.

John Karr claims he drugged and sexually molested JonBenet. However, forensic does not suggest this.

IMO, this John Karr guy might be a very disturbed person. Obsessed with the JBR case. His "confession" might have different reasons (I'm only speculating here):

- he might just be a nutcase and obsessed with the case, out of touch with reality and 'confessed' as his fantasies took over reality

- he might just wanted to get out of Thailand!!! Maybe he had not the money for a ticket and came up with that 'story'!!!

- he might just be a sick attention seaking individual! Who wants to have his name all over the media! And will later publish a book!

As much as I would love justice for JonBenet and some peace for her parents, IMO, this John Karr guy raises more questions than giving answers! I'm VERY skeptical about him and his motives! JMO.

10 years later, in the JBR murder, I didn't think there was any inside info left!

Karr didn't do it, IMO, because as a credentialed 2nd grade teacher, he wouldn't spell business with 4 s's. Either accidentally or on purpose.

Its an English as 2nd language author, IMO. The handwriting or DNA probably wont belong to him. If either does, I'll eat a bug!

You have such great faith in teachers and their spelling ability. I once received a note home from a teacher that said "Please send there money for class fees to class with your children." That is just the tip of the iceberg of the errors that have come home in the form of notes, etc. Now, granted, I am in Louisiana but I believe teachers anywhere can be less than qualified to lead a spelling class!

Something that caught my attention yesterday was the statement from a news story that Karr said he picked up JonBenet at school and took her home before he killed her. Now I can't find the link but others quoted it here on other threads. That's gotta cast doubt on his whole confession if he really said that--how could he have picked her up at school on Xmas night after she was tucked into bed??? And if he researched the case as closely as is claimed, he would know that.

The weird statement about "school" is a wild card, isn't it. And yet, Karr has presumably (as stated by his father), studied and researched this case for a number of years. He probably knows every little factoid that has been published to date. So, to make this statement, would be a pretty elementary blunder - for any one who has read up on this case. Is he devious/smart enough to be testing the DA, to see just how much they really know?

Karr responded to a question about how this happened, or something like that. And he responded with something like, "it would take hours to explain it" (not exact words). This smacks of someone who is needing to have people gathered around him, waiting for every word that comes out of his mouth. That, or he is really obsessed with PD finally getting the facts correct.

What a freakish turn of events, either way. Can't seem to decide what to make of it.

Hi, CherokeeKid, I can agree with everything here at least emotionally. (Of course, I'd like to think that he did do it.) My only caveat is that drug and sex stories (as well as the picked up from school story) come from a Thai official who wasn't actually at the sessions. For all we know right now, he might be misremembering, misrepresentating, or simply not understanding the English of what he heard from investigators.

To me, it does sound like Karr is a sick pedophile who has been trying to write himself into the life of a little girl whose pictures he became infatuated with.
