I read on an interview that she said she wont cut it because he does not want them too. Go figure....I think its too long.

I've heard that and the Jewish thing, so who knows? Why doesn't she just admit that she and her husband are hippies and they are raising their child accordingly?

agree with Marthatex---She was too young to get married

His hair is indeed gorgeous. And he's so cute.
I love Ryder's long hair. I always wished I had let me youngest son's grow really long.

She did get married very young. Her husband is so unattractive that pictures of him make me wince. I know some poeple who know him and they say he's a jerk.

Celebrity is so funny - it seems that every time a couple announces they are splitting, there is some magazine or news article out there where one of them is talking aboit how ungodly deliriously happy they are...

I am STUNNED!! I just bought the new issue of "Allure" magazine where
Kate is featured on the cover. She goes on and on about what a great
marriage they have. I just cannot understand why they would divorce...
she ALWAYS says how happy they are in interviews. Maybe that's the kiss
of death. LOL

It's sad that they have a 2 year old....divorce is hard on kids.
Not at two it's not.
It is harder when they are older and have had more time to get used to things..
This way Ryder will know no different.
I'm so not into parents staying together just for their kids.
It is more detrimental for them to be brought up by two people that don't love each other and fight all the time..

What does it matter? He's a cute kid-who cares if he has long hair-I think it's cute on him.

I can dress my 2 year old in head to toe pink and some people still call her "he" so honestly I don't think long hair is going to make that big of a difference in the long run.

Ryder is cute and its not like she is hurting him. I personally dont like the long hair on a child his age but thats just me. I am sort of "hippie" too. Of course my DH would never go for our sons hair that long at that age he would throw a fit!!

I too am shocked....kind of...I am almost sure it has something to do with You,Me & Dupree. I saw a interview of her and Owen Wilson and I thought then that there was a little too much atraction between them....bet that has something to do with it....or Matt Dillon...they both were crushing on her....she is a cutie! Guess time will tell....or not! Anyway, it's really too bad...I thought she & Chris were tight....hope they do what's best for Ryder...he's a dear...

It's a personal preference. :innocent: We aren't required to agree.

I have mixed feelings about Ryder's hair.
On one hand, it's HER child, an she can raise him however she wants.
Also, if they are Jewish, I've heard about the not cutting boys hair till age 3.

On the other hand, I doubt I'd let my son's hair grow THAT long, even though
Ryder's hair is gorgeous. It might cause some gender confusion.

To each their own.

I would be more concerned with it getting in my sons face all the time, just hanging there. I mean does she ever pull it up? Like in a pony tail, it would drive my little one crazy.

Jeana-
I think it's longer, and it looks like the ends are curled under.

In our grandparents day, at least mine, the little boys always had long hair until they were about 5 or 6. They had some of the cutest curls. I remember looking at photos of my great uncles and you didn't know at first glance they were boys.

Did I say it mattered? No, I'm entitled to have an opinion of a 2 1/2 yo boy looking like a girl and IMO it looks ridiculous.

I don't like Ryder's hair that long either. I think its way too long. And agree, it looks ridiculous.
