Kathi Belich as a Defense Witness? Seriously?

I am really, really really hoping the attempt to add these additional witnesses well past the deadlines will be the last straw for HHJP. Really Hoping.

That doesn't make sense to me - the other stations have been just as rough in the last month as Kathy has ever been. And more consistently critical this past month also.

Why keep just Kathy out? It must be some specific information she has or they think she has. Didn't she do that Maya (sp?) expose a while back, because she is also one of the new witnesses they want to add.

This may very well be a vindictive move but that won't fly as justification for adding her to the defense list. I'm betting on the Maya deposition vs. what she said in her televised interview.

But doesn't the station have ownership of anything she produces for them? Surely she has people who did the investigating and turned over the information to her...why not add them as well?

Hahaha - because the fact she "picks" on them and reports the truth isn't going to be enough reason to bring her in now - so long after the witness deadline. It is so obvious they are being hugely petty, but how can they go to a hearing and call that a reason. Even if they stamp their feet and bring colored charts.:innocent:

Ah yes, but that would require Baez and company to actually read her deposition, watch the televised interview, and compare the two. That is far more work than either of those two is willing to do. Maybe she does have some information, but I'm thinking not. This is just a vindictive move on their part that is not going to fly. HHJP will see through them and deny this.

Wouldn't the states motion to strike make it possible that no this will not come up at the next hearing, in fact it will never come up at any hearing. It will not be scheduled because they are 6 months past the deadline?

First off, I wonder if Kathi knows or is aware of this relevant information that she holds???
Secondly...Baez should have known that he needed to EXPLAIN that in the Supplemental unless of course he wanted to SAO to file a Response against them...so it's in the Record

I'd say this is a pretty good guess, that they are going to try and say she was an "agent of the state".

If that is what it is about, and they are going at it by putting her name on the defense witness list... that is about the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

I don't actually think Kathi had information that would be of assistance to the Defense! We know how the Defense tries to twist what someone has said - I'm saying I think this is the excuse the Defense is using.

I'VE GOT IT! Their new tactic is to include EVERYBODY IN THE WHOLE WORLD on their witness list, exclude them from sitting in court, exclude them from the potential jury pool, thus winning the case. Brilliant, JB, simply brilliant. But we don't expect ANYTHING LESS from you here at WS.

I just love how he wants to add additional witnesses, but give good reason for it later. Kind of like Wimpy, I'll pay you tomorrow for a hamburger today. Why not ask for additional witnesses and attached the good reasons to it? It just makes Baez look incredibly lazy. And, I bet he wanted a good buzz going on Kathy Belich before giving his reason. Maybe he's going to attempt to make a point about the media that way, by making an example of Kathy B? Baez, I hate to break it to you, but she is SO not scared of you one bit. Seriously, she's having a good laugh over this right now!
