B.C. RCMP - Kelowna RCMP continue to search for missing person: Martin Joseph Thiffault

Kelowna RCMP renews public plea for the public’s help in locating missing person Martin J. Thiffault.



Martin Thiffault was last seen or heard from on April 19th, 2018. RCMP in Kelowna were made aware of his disappearance on April 24th at approximately 2:30 pm, when they opened a missing person’s investigation.

Since that time, RCMP have followed up on several possible leads and turned to the public for help, having released Martin’s photo and physical description to the media, in an effort to further their still ongoing police investigation.

It has been nearly one month since Mr. Thiffault was last seen and Kelowna RCMP’s Missing Person Coordinator continues to actively investigate his disappearance, states Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey spokesperson for the Kelowna Regional RCMP. It is very uncommon for Martin to be out of contact with his family or friends for this amount of time and we are, of course, concerned for his well-being.

Description of Martin Joseph Thiffault:

• Caucasian male;
• 48 years;
• 5 ft 6 in (168 cm);
• 157 lbs (71 kg);
• Brown hair;
• Brown goatee;
• hazel eyes;

Man missing from Kelowna found dead in Kamloops

Human remains found near the Kamloops airport have been positively identified as those of a Kelowna man.

The B.C. Coroners Service has now identifed the body as that of Martin Thiffault, last seen April 19, 2018 in the Kelowna area, the release says.

No cause of death is given in the release and RCMP say they have turned the file over to the coroners service.

The remains of a missing Kelowna man were found in Kamloops last week, but police don't believe there was any criminal activity involved in his death.
