Different state but I certainly hope that what happened to the Powell children cannot possibly happen to baby K. No supervised visitation no visitation whatsoever.
Yes!

Ita !
Just a thread of fear runs through me.
Keep hoping for the best outcome, though .
I think we're all nervous for this baby K.

Imagine your own defense team pleading your case with the excuse that you're an idiot and stupid --so logically you couldn't have committed this crime ?
It'd be hilariously funny if this wasn't so tragic.
That was different!!

You prompted me to look at Colorado information on this topic, thanks and I've done a 180 on my MOO now.

"No Requirement to Disclose Harmful Evidence

You do not have any obligation to disclose evidence harmful to your criminal case. Your criminal defense attorney may hide incriminating evidence safely away in his files so long as it is not contraband."

Uncovering Your Opponents Case | Denver Crime Lawyer H. Michael Steinberg is a link, there were more but were sooooooooooooo legalese to link
But those death threats might be considered 'contraband.' Asking someone to put out a hit on an FBI agent and 9 other people is a crime. So taking those notes and hiding them would be illegal act for a Law Enforcement Professional, like a Public Defender. JMO

The defense argued there is no blood or DNA evidence found on Patrick Frazee. His DNA wasn’t found in Kelseys condo either. There is no video of him leaving her condo with a black tote. Krystal is also never seen on surveillance coming or going from the condo.

Looking back at my notes, here's a very choice quote from #PatrickFrazee's public defender: “He acts a fool, and he starts to freak out in 11 months of waiting... “It’s proof of him being an idiot, it’s not proof he committed a murder, it’s not proof he killed Kelsey.”

He starts to freak out and commits solicitation and conspiracy to commit murder? Yeah. Not in keeping with being a murderer, right?

Don't pile on me for saying this, but my heart goes out to the defense team of AS & AP. I'm not sure how it all works but I would imagine they are assigned a case and unlucky for them they got the PF case. What I respect in them, is it appears they accepted the old saying "it is what it is" and they never tried to spin a story. They quietly let the trail/case/evidence/witnesses play itself out. As @gitana1 said a while back, they are used to losing. Kudos to them for their service to our justice system and taking a hit on their own reputation. I'll bet they are more than relieved this whole thing is done with (and I also bet they are expecting a guilty verdict and probably agree with it). They are human after all and would not want a PF running free.
bolding mine
Not to mention PF could very well be a danger to THEM.
He wanted the member of the CO Bureau of Investigation 'taken out'. Along with all of those others.

I know. A lot of people get hung up on dna so it's worrisome. But it's not a good thing to get hung up on dna because perps nowadays generally cleanup the scene.

He's just an unlucky idiot...awww shucks, m'am. It was all just a coincidence, promise!

Yes, letting him out EVER is putting society at great risk!

Too bad the defense didn't just go for "diminished capacity" to begin with.

Oh well. Too late now.

Also, for anyone who might’ve missed it and was looking forward to what would be said in closing? His team ADMITS he wrote those notes.

I hope there were many states, people and cases that learned and will learn from that situation.
Even if he’d had to go through a pat down and a metal detector, etc... and had a supervised visit that way with social workers but at his own home when you’re an abuser and suspected of murder?! Insane and infuriating!!
Had a similar personal situation and that kind of invasive supervised visit was what was offered to my ex as far as a visit goes and he declined, as I’m sure many would if that was the case... too much trouble and embarrassing and they’d be unable to control it.

So it would be too stupid to kill her in Thanksgiving and not the night before in the middle of nowhere. Thus he didn’t do it. Oh and they admit their client’s an idiot.

Poor things. They have nothing. Very satisfying defense closing.

I don't think it will happen. The baby is much too young for travelling for visitation and by the time she is old enough she won't even know that side of the family.

There was quite a bit of discussion about whether or not the jury would have this timeline. They have it! :):):)

Jury has all evidence, including the extremely detailed timeline made by a Colorado Springs Police Department criminal analyst, to help them decide. @KOAA #KelseyBerreth #PatrickFrazee #KrystalKenney

So the defense’s argument is...because he’s an idiot and suffers from moronicity, he should be found innocent of a brutal premeditated murder.
Wow.
That’s an even lamer argument than I thought they would have.
I figured that's their only shot, a diminished capacity defence. He's too Stoopid for his own good.

Well, exactly.

I thought the defense was going to show us how the prosecution had a house with a faulty, defective foundation. Whatever happened to that?

  • #939
FYI, I saw a case the other night on Forensic Files in which the jury was out 35 minutes...that’s the shortest I’ve ever seen, not sure if any of you have seen shorter?

I’m going to guess it will be quick, moo. 4 hours MAX.

ETA: not even that.
I’m going to say 2 hours MAX, moo.

ETA2:
My final answer-90 minutes.

And, that the murder didn't take place at the townhome. What happened to that? MOO
