Nothing solid. That country is as secretive as it gets (as we all know), and it’s in their interest to maintain that until they figure out his successor.

The prevailing take is that if these rumors were not true, the NK government would shoot them down in a big way (having Kim make an appearance).

It sounds like he’s as good as dead, regardless of if it has happened yet.

They’re never wrong when they are reporting celebrity deaths, as they are highly connected and do their own reporting.

Kim Jong Un in 'vegetative state', Japanese media claims; China medical experts dispatched to North Korea

Reports emerged earlier this week that Kim was gravely ill following heart surgery, although that has since been disputed. However, Japanese media now claims that Kim is in a vegetative state following a stent procedure.

Japanese magazine Shukan Gendai reported that Kim collapsed during a visit to a rural area in April. Kim reportedly required a stent procedure following the incident.

Shukan Gendai subsequently detailed how the surgeon in charge of Kim’s operation was not used to dealing with obese patients and was too nervous during the operation, leading to delays that left Kim in a “vegetative state.”

How ironic -- the same fear he instilled in his citizens is likely what led to the surgeon's nervousness and possibly his demise.

NEW: Trump admin received information that Kim Jong Un had heart surgery last week and if he's alive, his health is poor, I'm told. KJU hasn't been seen at key events in recent days. It's unclear to US officials if he's dead or alive. (CNN 1st reported his condition's grave.)

Trump administration officials are looking into who would be in the line of succession if Kim Jong Un dies or is already dead, I'm told.

I guess it's how you become a legend. He was born either in 1982, 1983 or 1984. American and British scholars seem to think it's 1983.

Which makes him around 37. I think he was born in January.

No telling what's really going on with his health, as surgery may have been commanded as a last resort due to some other thing going on, you know, like his heart exploding from CoVid-19.

I recall previous rumours that came to nothing, so I'm not betting on it. Only gossipy media are reporting it, as rumour, ie quoting each other.

Where would the rumour come from, that China South Korea and the US would doubt it?

Pure speculation, but perhaps the big rallies were cancelled due to fears of covid-19. Perhaps it's widespread, and Kim wants to disappear rather than address his people about it and expose weakness to the west

Hope the North Korean people are ok.

But I thought North Korea had absolutely no cases of COVID 19. Per their reports if anyone truly believed them.

Perhaps NK started the virus? I'm ready for anything to be proven one way or another. It's such a horrible virus that I pray for anyone who has or have had it and their family and friends. It's truly devastating.

We can only hope for a future with some openness again. Going to walk in the morning early. Really need it again. (with mask)
