Kirsten has a circular scar on her back.
Kirsten was last seen after a New Year's Eve party on December 31, 2000 with her boyfriend, Brent Wolverton, and another man, Josh Anders.
Anders said that after the party, Kirsten asked him for a ride home. He borrowed a blue 1988 Ford Aerostar van from Bradford Toland. They drove around for 4-5 hours, but couldn't find the house she was looking for, so they went to Wolverton's apartment. When Anders walked to the front door, Kirsten got behind the wheel and drove away. Wolverton, however, said that they left together. One of the men called him and said she had stolen the van when they were stopped for gas.
The van has never been found. Kirsten did not take any personal belongings with her when she vanished. Although there is no evidence of foul play, authorities and her family believe she is deceased. Her case remains unsolved.
