Thanks for the update! I split them into their "own" charges.

That is a good idea to split them up. You are so good at keeping track of all the cases you handle. Thank you!

I did that so if they start having different court dates- I can keep them straight. Easier for me! :D

Also interesting. Caiden Clem's attorney says there's no video of him shooting anyone, but there is video of him holding a gun to a bouncer's head and firing it into the air several times. This frightened the other defendant, who started shooting and shot the victims.

...

Full story at link

Ok, so Caiden and Daitron, both 18, snuck into the bar using a side door, and began drinking with friends. The bouncers eventually caught them and kicked them out, and wouldn't let them back in to look for a missing phone.

Witnesses say there was a dispute over a missing cellphone with the teen’s friends punching the bouncers. That’s when video shows Caiden Clem holding a gun to a bouncer’s head before walking away and firing shots into the air.

“No question. It’s on video, my client shoots three times in the air. Now that’s aggravated assault,” Cornwell admitted.

However, Cornwell is questioning the criminal connection between those shots and what happened next.

Daitron Daniels Strickland told investigators he was frightened by the gunfire, so he pulled out his gun and started firing toward the bar.

AIden Knowles, 18, was shot and killed, Brady Clark, 16, was critically injured.

This ^^^ is an interesting legal question -----what will the jury decide?
Will Caiden be held responsible for the deaths of the victims, even though he didn't point his own weapon at them? It was his friend that shot the victims, when he panicked after hearing Caiden's gun shots.

Bar employees, patrons describe gunfire outside The Hawk on night of fatal shooting

LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - Multiple witnesses testified Tuesday about a deadly shooting outside The Hawk that left one person dead and another wounded, with bar employees and patrons describing gunfire in the street after a fight broke out during closing time.

Two suspects face charges in the Jan. 17 shooting.

Daitron Lamont Daniels-Strickland is facing five felony charges for murder, attempted murder twice, criminal possession of weapon by felon, plus one misdemeanor. Caiden Clem also faces five felonies: aggravated assault four times and criminal possession of weapon by felon.

The initial murder charge against Clem had been dropped.
