In the roughly two days before 8-year-old Ahliyah Nachelle Irvin was slain in 2012, the man charged with her killing consumed lines of cocaine and bottles of vodka, his then-girlfriend testified Tuesday.

In the midst of it, the child, looking for her playmate, sometimes visited the apartment where Billy Frank Davis Jr. and his girlfriend, Sondra Adams, were drinking alcohol and using drugs.

Adams was one of 19 witnesses to testify on Tuesday. Since testimony started on Monday, 32 witnesses have testified.

An 8-year-old girl killed by Billy Frank Davis Jr. suffered the worst injuries due to a sexual assault than any other victim she has examined, the director of a sex assault examiner unit testified Friday.

Joy Thomas, who has done sex assault examinations for 30 years, is the supervisor for the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner program at Stormont-Vail HealthCare.

Thomas testified during the sentencing phase of Davis' capital murder case.
