OK, so I do not have to read through this whole thread can someone quickly post why this is relevant and why it is on this thread?

Not mad or anything. No worries. Just would like to know.

Hi Tricia,

We were sleuthing and sharing Youtube info and an observant poster saw some insensitive, objectionable comments under the youtube clips.

The point of mentioning it (imo) seemed to serve as, for one, a warning of sorts on the content, as well as acknowledging other posters' reactions and outrage here.

We were repulsed by the insensitivity and vulgarity shown in the comments.

As far as I know, the point of whoever brought it up was to reach out to someone here who was already registered at Youtube (as a time saver I presume) who could flag and report the offensive posts for the sake of readers here and elsewhere, and on behalf of Alicia's memory and her family.

(That was my understanding of it anyway and my only point is that the poster didnt have malicious intent. Iow, the execution was misplaced in this venue (here, WS) but her heart was in the right place.)

I feel your angst and outrage.

As Im sure you, and others feel, Im loathe to add to the guilt and devastation the mom already suffers; so given that, I want to add that this could have happened at 8 PM.. 9.. pick a time.

Also, as far as my reading - and I still have plenty to catch up on - we dont know if Alicia told mom that whoever was picking her up was someone acceptable to mom, with whom mom felt Alicia was safe;

But maybe someone else was driving who was unknown to mom; or possibly, but maybe slightly less likely, he was even unknown to Alicia until she was already in the vehicle; but then that sort implicates, or at least draws into play, whoever was supposed to pick her up in the first place unless that person was duped into changing drivers, in which case he/she should have alerted Alicia to any change of plans.

actually it is just sorrow really. As an RN I have seen this same sort of "thing" all around the places I work... and the places I have lived.....

I really am just sad......

And I still truly believe that some primary prevention (in the tween department) could help. MOO

LOL....the entire area of Great Bend ( the Great is actually part of the city name, not a description) is 10.6 square miles. Since everything in Kansas is pretty much laid out in one mile grid patterns, that would make the entire town about 2 miles by 5 miles. So, literally any two points would be just a couple of miles apart. This link has a couple of maps included that can be zoomed in to see better. It is literally just a small town, no where close to a "city" at all.

Just getting their ducks in row and we don't know if he was the perp or if more are involved. I'll be curious to see if they used the media in getting the perp/s ...my guess is..yep.

Cute, :hugs:, but it stands for Main Stream Media.

Also, not sure... has a scanner thread been started yet? I tried to find one for this area last night, but came up with nothing in Great Bend. I am thinking they might be part of a bigger county??

Trent Mermis, owner of Willy J's nightclub on the north side of Great Bend, said investigators earlier this week showed him pictures of Longoria and about three other men and asked whether they had been at his bar the night Alicia disappeared. Mermis said he didn't recall seeing Longoria that night but saw the other men at the club.

Investigators also asked to look through the nightclub's trash, Mermis said.

According to the article he was just released May 25 th after 7 YEARS in JAIL!

He was released May 25 after completing a seven-year sentence for aggravated robbery. Longoria's first court appearance on the Kansas charges is set for Monday.

OMG the GF must be going crazy, she just met him after he got out of the slammer or what? So I gather he is from Texas.
