“The Johnson County Crime Lab, Johnson County Medical Examiner's Office, Olathe Police Department, Overland Park Police Department, Leawood Police Department and the Johnson County District Attorney's Office were all assisting on Wednesday morning, according to Prairie Village police.”

Still only a missing persons case and they’re denying any criminal investigation at this point- they’re just on a “fact-finding mission”

Daughter of missing Prairie Village woman taking new approach in hopes of finding answers | FOX 4 Kansas City WDAF-TV | News, Weather, Sports

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The daughter of a missing Prairie Village woman is getting help as she tries to find out what happened to her mom.

That help is coming from the sister of Alissa Turney, a teenager whose case went viral through TikTok. Both women hope a new approach will find Angela Green.

IMO, Alissa Turner has been relentless over the years on finding out what happened to her stepsister (Sarah) and ultimately going after her own father for believing he murdered her. He was recently arrested. Sarah disappeared in 2001. Such a sad and heartbreaking case.

I'm happy to hear she offered to help Angela Green's daughter. This case needs publicity desperately.

IMO

Recorded phone calls involving missing Prairie Village woman’s case raise more questions | FOX 4 Kansas City WDAF-TV | News, Weather, Sports.

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. — Newly recorded phone calls involving the case of a missing Prairie Village woman, Angela Green, raise more questions as her daughter Ellie looks for answers and continues to look for her mom.

Angela Green hasn’t been seen since June 2019. FOX4 obtained recorded phone calls between Ellie and her father, Geoff Green.

When Ellie was little, her mother, Angela, would write her notes to put in her lunch every day. The colored drawings and letters were intricate and thoughtful. Now, Ellie is doing the same for her. Intricately taking notes to help find her missing mother.

Prairie Village woman’s 2019 disappearance the focus of NBC Dateline investigation airing Friday

Oct 30, 2020

The episode, entitled “Hope Whispers,” is centered on the case of Angela Green, whose disappearance in June, 2019, remains a mystery. The 52-year-old was last seen along the 7600 block of Tomahawk Rd. in Prairie Village.

Ellie Green, Angela’s daughter, talks to NBC News’ Keith Morrison about her mother’s disappearance for the Dateline episode. Ellie has maintained she believes her mother died of a stroke in July, 2019, a month after she went missing and after Ellie says her father, Geoffrey Green, told her her mother had been admitted to a mental institution.

Inconsistencies in the story she said her father told her about Angela’s death, including that Angela had run away, led Ellie to file a missing person’s report in February, 2020. Although the Prairie Village Police Department has exhausted around 200 leads, Ellie is holding onto hope that her mother is still alive and has made repeated efforts to publicize her mother’s case.

In regards to Green’s husband, Geoff Green, Sgt. Taylor said that he’s not considered a suspect because it’s only a missing persons’ case and the police department is simply gathering facts, but the sergeant added that Geoff Green “has not wanted to talk to us.” When Heavy spoke to Guo, she also said that the police tried to ask some questions but he refused to cooperate.

“During the search of the house, Geoff was held at the police station and the police said he did not say a single word, did not ask for any water, did not ask to use the restroom,” she added. “They said it was very strange. The police have not explicitly stated whether or not Geoff was considered a suspect. I believe he hired a criminal defense lawyer to protect himself from making any sort of self-incriminating statements.” Heavy reached out to Paul Cramm, Geoff Green’s attorney, but did not receive a response.

Guo also clarified that Green did not return to China, because her mother (Green’s sister) is still in contact with their family in China. In addition, Guo said, “The Department of Homeland Security also confirmed that there is no record of her traveling, whether it be by plane, train or bus. In addition, she left her car keys, car, drivers license and passport at the house."

Geoffrey Green Now: Where is Angela Green's Husband Today? Is He in Jail?

Oct 30, 2020

In the late 1990s, Geoffrey Green, a mechanic and salesman from Kansas who was visiting China for work, was introduced to Angela, a native of Xin He, on the outskirts of Tianjin, China, by a mutual party. While Geoffrey was already divorced and had a daughter from that marriage, Angela had never married and was eager to start a family. So, with both of them looking forward to starting a new relationship, they began dating.

Their first date was at a Hard Rock Café in Beijing, followed by a courtship that was mostly conducted by mail. Within a year, Angela left her life behind and moved to Kansas, where the couple tied the knot. According to their daughter Ellie, who was born just a couple of years later, Angela didn’t speak much English, although she could read and write in it perfectly. And as Geoffrey didn’t speak Chinese, their language barrier was a cause of tension between them.

As years went by, the couple developed a routine and lived a seemingly good life on a quiet street in Prairie Village. While Geoffrey worked, Angela stayed at home to take care of their family, depending on them for almost everything, even going out and shopping. And now, looking back, Ellie thinks that her parents’ relationship was more business-like than romantic.

Maddening - what bullocks! There is more than enough evidence to suggest possible foul play. If they don't have a homicide detective involved I'd be calling my rep and the DA's office every day.

GEOFF Well, no, but then again, I'm not gonna go look for a death certificate until I finally need a death certificate. ELLIE Well, you need a death certificate to cremate somebody, and you've got this mysterious urn man that shows up with ashes. So of course, there had to be a death certificate before they cremated her. GEOFF Right. I know there's death certificate somewhere there, but I didn't need a death certificate for anything. Not yet.

Learned about Angela missing tonight during NBC Dateline. What a terrible experience for the daughter and family. Glad she found support with her boyfriend and his family. Surely Dad doesn't think anybody buys his story!

Prairie Village woman’s 2019 disappearance the focus of NBC Dateline investigation airing Friday

Me too! Hi @Seattle1 I know you from the Suzanne Morphew thread. I watched the Dateline last night too and that’s the first I’ve heard about this case in Kansas. When the episode just ended without finding Angela Green or an arrest being made I was shocked. The whole story was just unbelievable! Ellie seems like a very smart and accomplished young woman yet she didn’t report her mother missing for 7-8 months? That just shows the power of believing and trusting someone you love because she probably never thought in a million years her father was capable of something like this. I mean first he tells Ellie her mom was hauled off from a grocery store parking lot to a mental hospital? I would have insisted on seeing my mother right then and there! He lets her live at her boyfriend’s house and she doesn’t ever come home to search for her mother or insist her father take her to the hospital? She doesn’t even know what hospital she was in so she could call her? Then months go by and he tells Ellie her mother had a stroke and died? He tells her not to tell her mom’s family? How did she ever go along with this?! I feel like there must be a lot of missing information in this story. He has an empty urn at their house? What in the world?! And apparently Angela didn’t speak fluent English and GG didn’t speak fluent Chinese and they had a “communication problem”. Yeah I guess so! This doesn’t sound like it was a traditional marriage but more like an arrangement type thing?

I did a little research last night after the show and read something about a nearby granite business that was searched. It has a lake beside it but not clear if it was searched. I don’t know if GG owns it or worked there or what the connection is and didn’t read anything about any searches using cadaver dogs. I know very little so far about this investigation but wanted to see if there was a thread on Angela Green on WS because I might like to follow this one. Is this the main thread for posting on her case?

So obviously it is most likely Angela Green is deceased since there is no record of her traveling back to China and there has been no sightings or trace of her anywhere. Her belongings were at the home and I don’t think she would ever leave her daughter. She sounded like a devoted and loving mother. I hope her remains can be found and the responsible person will finally be arrested. It’s horrible that a wife and mother can just disappear without a trace and be missing for that long before anyone does anything. Did no one else notice this woman was gone? I guess if you don’t work outside the home and don’t speak fluent English or have a best friend or group of friends around you and your only child is away at college?? She was very vulnerable, isolated and dependent on her husband financially. I wonder if he killed her if it was premeditated or something happened and it was an accident or rage killing?

Ellie must be so scared and hurt that she has been betrayed by her father. I’m glad she has her boyfriend’s family and her cousin in her life because now she has lost both parents. I hope there is more attention on this case now and there will be justice for Angela and closure for Ellie!

Reportedly, EG and her mom had a fight and EG was "thrown out of the house" -- ending up with her bf's family. It seems she still lives with them even today. Her mom went missing soon after the alleged fight.

I believe EG's dad used/took advantage of this teen scuffle to disappear AG. I think mom and daughter were very close and dad finally found a wedge and kept it there for months. Dad probably made EG feel like it was her fault mom was locked up in a mental institution and even told EG she could not visit for her own protection! Bullocks! I'm glad EG finally told her mom's relatives since they likely gave her the info and courage needed to go against her dad and file the missing report with the police.

It was after AG's family told about the alleged death that dad changed the story from AG dead to missing since he could not produce a death certificate, and the family found no proof she was dead or left the country.

In one of the links I posted, there was additional content at the link about dad's occupation. It stated he worked in IT services for the federal government and EG believed he was knowledgeable about manipulating information.

I agree that AG is most likely deceased and GG is probably responsible for her death.

Thanks @Seattle1 for sharing more information with me about this case. Do we know what they were fighting about? On Dateline it sounded like EG had come home from college for the summer but was busy traveling and doing things with her boyfriend and maybe AG was feeling left out of her life. It sounds like AG’s life revolved around her daughter. I can relate to that empty nest feeling and missing your child. When my daughter and only child went off to college it was a huge life change for me. I was happy for her and wanted her to enjoy her freedom and any exciting opportunities but I worried about her constantly and still do. And suddenly it was just me and my husband and the house became very quiet. And if her relationship with GG wasn’t good then she probably felt very alone. So I get it and can see how AG might have felt sad or even a little hurt but why would AG be so angry and what could cause a fight so bad that she kicks her daughter out of the house?!

Maybe you’re right and GG put a wedge between them on purpose? Was he jealous and want AG to just focus on him and be happy alone with him now? Or was he angry at AG for being upset with their daughter? Instead of trying to get them to make up and get EG to come home did he try and instigate things further so she would stay at her boyfriend’s house? Maybe AG wanted to divorce GG and she felt stuck in the marriage. She was dependent on GG financially and was he controlling? Maybe she decided that if she barely saw EG anyway she wanted to move back to China? Maybe she told EG that and that’s what the fight was about? Or maybe AG did not approve of how close EG was with her boyfriend? Maybe she thought the relationship was too serious for their age and didn’t want her daughter to become sexually active or get pregnant? Surely EG has shed more light on the fight with her mother and her parents relationship than what was shown on Dateline?

I talk or text with my daughter almost every day. If I was missing my daughter would be so alarmed that she would call the police even if her Dad didn’t. And if he told her I was in a psych ward somewhere she would absolutely insist on seeing me. Why didn’t EG? Is GG that controlling that she was scared of him too? And her boyfriend’s mom was suspicious but didn’t followup on AG’s condition or where she was? Once GG told them AG had died the boyfriend’s mom had him over but didn’t ask about a funeral? Wouldn’t EG want to say goodbye to her mother at least at a private viewing? It all seems very strange.

If GG killed AG what was the motive? He was just ignoring the fact that she was gone and hoping no one else would notice either so he wasn’t after a life insurance policy. And he would need a death certificate for that anyway. Why would he tell EG she had a stroke and died and that he had her ashes? He expected her to believe and accept that her mother died and he had her cremated without allowing her daughter to say goodbye? EG was not a small gullible child...she was a very bright, straight A student!

GG didn’t plan it very well if it was premeditated so I am leaning towards an accidental rage killing. Something must have happened between AG & GG (maybe her fight with EG?) to cause a big fight probably right after EG left the house. GG had plenty of time to hide her body and clean up the crime scene. If they didn’t have a child he would totally have gotten away with it! I feel very bad for EG to have to live with so much guilt and regret. Of course it wasn’t her fault but she probably feels responsible.

I would like to know what LE has done so far. I need to research a lot more and hopefully there is more information available about the investigation. There might be some similarities between GG and BM in the Suzanne Morphew case!

It’s too late to edit but wanted to add MOO to my above speculative post. Sorry about forgetting that! Has GG been officially named a POI do we know?

Authorities were able to secure search warrants for both the family home and the storage location that GG keeps his vintage cars. They had to have probable cause to obtain the warrants so I think that GG is a POI although police have not named him and still consider this a missing person case. IMO, I don't think authorities are pursuing any other person.

I think between Ellie and her cousin Michelle (that happens to be an attorney), they are shaking the trees to bring public interest to this case and generate some leads.
