Police: Man arrested after infant found with serious injuries
Wichita police arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of four counts of aggravated battery, child abuse and attempted first-degree murder.
At approximately 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, police said they responded to a possible child abuse call at Wesley Hospital, 550 N. Hillside. When they arrived, officers contacted a 20-year-old mother and a two-month-old boy. The boy had serious injuries to his face and leg.
The mother reported that she left the boy in the care of his father, Thomas Harper. The boy was asleep when the mother left and upon her returning the boy had sustained multiple injuries.
Jail record show Thomas Harper was booked late Tuesday night for attempted first-degree murder, child abuse and four counts of aggravated battery. He was held without bond Wednesday morning.
