KS KS - DENNIS LYNN RADER, BTK Serial Killer

I won't be one to question what Kerri states about her dad, Dennis Rader. Grateful, I am not in her shoes.

I do believe in healing, otherwise you stay stuck in life and the evil ones win. I chose to be the winner.

There is plenty for everyone to be winners... love prevails, always. moo ;)

This is not to take away from Dennis Rader's innocent victims. He is evil, no question about that.

Yes, I believe in the eternal scheme of things, even he could be healed, provided he really wanted to be.

I just finished watching the Netflix documentary ‘My Father, the BTK Killer’. Kerri Rawson does a tremendous job of openly providing her perspective on her life with Rader, and the years following his arrest and conviction. I have great respect for Kerri, and her work as an advocate for victims of crime. The show is well done and really worth a watch.

I've seen nothing but people saying negative things about Kerri after watching so I'm thankful for a different perspective. I also have great respect for Kerri!

A lot of people find Kerri an unsympathetic victim just as they do Melissa Moore, (Happy Face) Asa Ellerup & Victoria Ellerup
They all cashed in one way or another and their father's and husbands are imprisoned for life.
The true victims are the people that were murdered and their surviving loved ones.
imo

You might continue loving a family member who killed during the heat of passion; in fact I believe most would.

However BTK’s crimes against random strangers — including children—in their own homes were so sinister, cruel, and premeditated that it would be impossible for me and I’m sure others to forgive.
One of the most wrenching victim impact statements I ever heard came from the daughter of Washington state SK Robert Lee Yates. She went into detail about what this had done to their family, and ended it with, "And despite all of this, Daddy, I still love you."

That takes some guts.

I don't think of anyone not being a "true" victim. I don't categorize them that way. The families of these killers are victims too and we don't know how we'd handle it until we are put in that situation so I give them all a lot of grace.

Also, information has come to light that Kerri was a direct victim of her father and not just family of a killer.
