KS KS - Jesse Lynn Crookston, 37, Saint Francis, 22 Nov 2020

I asked the sheriff's office for an update - they said "nothing that we can share at this time but again we do not believe Jesse is in any danger."

IMO, he's on the run from something. If he didn't want to be found, LE would simply state as much.

IMO, this statement by the sheriff, along with his wife's sudden silence, tells me he left because he wanted to. Wish they would just announce it and move on.

She might also just be overwhelmed with all of this. If it's not actively helping anyone find him or find out what happened, maybe it's better she not see it. I can't imagine being in her situation.

If something horrible has happened, I hope he is found. I want to believe the best about him and about the law enforcement response.

Honestly, none of this makes sense to me regardless of the ways I try to play it out in my head. I want to think that they know where he is, because at least that means he is alive.

I suppose that is possible, but you can't go much more on the run than to St. Francis, KS. And if the problem is here, going back to Denver, or to Idaho, should solve that.

It seems anything of value he had is accounted for- the vehicles, hunting gear, etc. There have been thefts of things like road maintainer batteries around the area. Those items can be used for manufacturing. I can see how people who were up to no good could think he must have money if they see Colorado plates and wonder how he might have a second home, as I kind of mentioned in a previous post, but if that were the case, they left a lot behind.

No one else in the surrounding area is unaccounted for, either.

As painful as voluntary missing can be, it's better than the alternative. Either way for @Jessesgirl and children, it's a horrible nightmare and I'm sorry they are living it :(

Also on this sheriff's link, there are interesting comments about Jesse's activities the day he went missing.

Updates shared by LE in the comments:
•we don’t feel he is in danger
•conducted searches
•vehicles & belongings accounted for
•he was not hunting

So if LE feels he is not in danger, then that makes me feel a lil better. I would take that as they don’t feel like anything bad has happened to him (I’ll spare examples)

But if his belongings are accounted for like his vehicles then what was his mode of transportation? If he wanted to ‘get away’ I’d think taking one of his vehicles would be quite convenient. IMO.
His career/lifestyle revolves around hunting so why would he leave his possessions behind?

If Jesse decided to get away or start over, as hard as that may seem to those who loved him, I wonder why LE can’t relay that in some general way to close case?

Just thinking aloud here....

Did he meet someone new?

Did he meet someone new?

I thought about this...and people do things all the time that make no sense to anyone else, but his wife and children were already so far away. He didn't need to disappear like that. And it's nearly impossible to start a new life with a new identity. Decades ago, maybe, but not now.

I also briefly entertained the idea that it was to prove something for the hunting channel, like how easy it is to live off the land with no supplies, etc., but it's been such a long time.

I suppose if LE know things we don't, then I am bothered by this over nothing. I want to be able to comfort his wife and kids and I want to know that we all did everything we could.

I left my own husband behind in Colorado to give my kids a better and safer environment here, and I can't imagine going through what his family is. It could have very easily been me.

that was my first thought also.

I thought he might have financial debts he's avoiding. Can't be served with a court summons if you aren't available. idk

Idaho is easy to search Statewide, only a speeding ticket there.

Jesse still hasn't been located but his wife has posted an update on the Help Find Jesse Facebook page.

His wife posted this update saying it seems he left of his own volition but they still don't know where he is.

Well, I feel that he's at least safe. Maybe he will reunite with his family and face whatever he is apparently trying to avoid.

I’m not insinuating any one idea because I have no evidence pointing to any reasons he would voluntarily leave. I can say however that the first and only thread I’ve started here reminds me a little of this one in regards to the comment of missing but not believed to be in Danger. I do feel that he may be running from something whether that be pending legal or criminal chargers, financial problems, relationship, depression/mental health, etc etc. I presume the silence is intentional to protect any parties involved. I agree that no matter what, his family is probably having a hard time with him missing regardless of the reason. May his wife know that we are here if she needs anything and we continue to have all of you in our thoughts.
