Found Deceased KS - John Wilson, 64, Wichita, 16 December 2015

  • #121
We are going to meet up with the search party tomorrow. Can anyone think of anything we should ask that may help in figuring out where Johnny would possibly wonder to? My husband suggested we find out where he used to work, hobbies etc since people who are confused tend to still remember more distant memories.

John's body has finally been found:

The location is in the same general area as the last confirmed sighting of him, which leads me to doubt some of the other possible sightings:

So happy I can finally post about this!

I am ticked off right now. If the WPD had actually searched for John, he could have been found and his family could have been saved the anguish of going so long not knowing what happened. It is just frustrating!! With that said, I am so very thankful he was finally found and I will forever be thankful for the amazing people I met. Kim, Bob and Michael are absolutely amazing!

I have to post this because it is just so dang true.

Kimberly Sims, who helped organize search parties immediately after Wilson went missing, said the news has left her shaken.

“I’m sick to my stomach,” she said. “If they would have let us search on the property, we would have found him a freaking year ago. I guess it is what it is and God is in control, but it’s still aggravating.”

Yes that is certainly frustrating. They could maybe have used a drone to fly over the property. Well hindsight is always easy.

RIP John. You were loved.

Officially identified.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office says the remains found near Spirit AeroSystems on Monday have been identified as John Wilson, a Wichita man who had been missing since December 2015.

Lt. Lin Dehning said positive identification was made Tuesday through dental records. He said there is no indication of foul play at this time.

It looks like John was found in an area no one could get to. The buildings seen here were checked but there is an area of construction that they could not get permission to search. I am honestly surprised John was able to travel so far!

According to Sheriff Spokesman Lt. Lin Dehning, a contractor was working in the 4600 block of S. Oliver when the discovery was made.

Was there construction work going on when he went missing? They might have thought it's too dangerous for people walking around in there. Sadly, John's demise seems to prove that point.

But why didn't the workers find him earlier? Had work been halted, or not yet begun?

I think work had halted for a while. My husband explained it to me but I wasn't really listening. (SHH! Don't tell him!) I will ask him when he gets home.
