Found Deceased KS - Jordan Yust, 38, vehicle found, endangered, 03 March 2025

Family, friends, volunteers and law enforcement have been searching acres of rural Kansas day and night for over a week, looking for an Olathe father of three who has been missing for 10 days.

“The past nine days have been exhausting for all involved, as approximately 4000 or more acres have been searched on ground and many more by volunteers, but our team remains committed to finding Jordan and will follow up on any leads to our fullest extent,”

Maxwell said they are emphasizing the area of 169 Highway to Hillsdale, and 255th Street to 235th Street. Officials Wednesday searched the area near 247th Street between 169 Highway and Columbia Road.

Yust’s six-year-old twin daughters also created their own flyer, where they wrote a personal message to their father, asking him to come home, Maxwell said.

Authorities said they found a man's body Monday in a pond near West 247th Street and U.S 69 Highway in Miami County, but have not confirmed the man is Jordan Yust.

"We cannot confirm it's him, but we are pretty confident in the identification it's him," said Miami County Undersheriff Matthew Kelly.

On Tuesday, the Miami County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a man’s body was recovered from a pond in Louisburg the night before.

Hours later the Olathe Police Department said an autopsy confirmed the identity of the body as Jordan Yust.

An autopsy was conducted Tuesday and confirmed the identity is Jordan Yust, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office said a property owner had discovered a dead man in a pond on their property.

Deputies responded and located a deceased male floating face down in the water.

An autopsy conducted Monday confirmed the remains are those of Yust. While the cause of death is still under investigation, authorities said there were no signs of foul play.

It appears they searched the pond he was found in a few weeks earlier.

Despite extensive efforts, including a sonar search of the pond, three weeks of searching yielded no results.

Miami County Undersheriff Matt Kelly said the body appeared to have been in the water for at least a week and may have surfaced due to decomposition.
