Older case. Still no news on this after thinking it would surely proceed with anything found during the investigation. I didn't realize that Justin's Mom died on December 29, 2021, only 6 months after Justin went missing on June 20, 2021. Justin is shown in her obituary as preceding her in death.

Remains identified as Justin Siwek

Justin Siwek, 32, had been reported missing since Father’s Day, June 20, 2021, from the Days Inn motel at 7721 Elizabeth Avenue. His family provided DNA samples to police that positively identified his remains, which were found April 16, Kansas City, Kansas police said.
