No, it's been updated with more info in August and it's the same one.

Address 1 Emmons & Sorter Drive
Skeletal remains were recovered from a wooded ravine in October and November of 1999 in Kansas City, KS. The circumstances of the death are unknown.
Age 2640, height estimate 67 inches.
Healed fractures of the left zygomatic process, left 2nd rib and jaw. There is evidence of old blunt traumatic injury to the right middle forehead. Arthritic changes in the lower left ribs. Last lumbar vertebra shows spondyloloysis.
repair of fractured jaw with placement of surgical wire
women's size 8 1/2 shoe recovered with remains

I don't know how Tabitha Brewer could have been ruled out by DNA if, as the Namus page says, the DNA sample has not been submitted.

I mapped the approximate distance from where Tabitha's boyfriend's body and the couple's belongings were found to the Jane Doe site and it's a 23 minute drive

https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=...kAK_iWg&oq=sortor+drive&gl=en&mra=ls&t=m&z=12

I keep turning up Tabitha as well, and coming back to her. Everything fits except the age -- and the UID's NamUs page still says DNA hasn't been submitted.

Map of the area, loop starting and ending in Shawnee:
https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=...rsLK5LAhzHjWKe3k3vwaQ&oq=shaw&mra=ls&t=m&z=12

(B) on the map is where this UID was found dumped in a wooded ravine. (C) is where Tabitha's boyfriend was found buried. The whole loop only takes a bit over an hour.

Quick possibility, before I leave for the day--- tell me what yall think

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/490/0/

Tina D'Ambrosio
missing 1996
age 34
fractured jaw [no specific mention of it still being wired, but still worth a glance]
sz 8 medium shoe
"Scar from back of neck to top of head from car accident injury in 1980" --worth a shot

Circumstances indicate she is likely in AZ somewhere, I can't explain how she could have ended up in KS, but hey like I said... worth a shot

Side by side they look pretty similar.

Other reasons Tina Lynn D'Ambrosio ["TLD"] could be a possibility:

UID est. height [5'5"-5'8"], TLD height 67".
UID est. age 30-40, TLD age 34
UID found with size 8 1/2 shoe, TLD wore size 8 Med
UID previously fractured jaw from prior trauma; TLD previously fractured jaw from car accident
UID skeletal remains found 1999; TLD missing 1996

Reasons it might not be TLD:
UID had 'extensive dental work', TLD had a full set of dentures
UID had a fractured rib, no mention of rib fracture on TLD
UID found in KS, TLD missing from AZ [although TLD originally from VA, a trip from AZ to VA could possibly pass through KS

Well now if that isn't embarrassing! :blushing:

Thanks Carbuff! Looks like I need to not be in such a hurry ;-)

'Saright. It's easy to do and that's why it's good to have all of us here looking at things. We can spot things other people miss so we don't have egg on our face when we talk to LE/ME/other officials :D Thank you for looking and keep up the good work.

The pictures are not much of a likeness but I saw this missing person on NAMUS - Star Gail Boomer or Star Gail Hurtie

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/case_report_html/390
http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/b/boomer_star.html

She was 39 when she went missing in February 1999 from a bar on 49th Street at Metropolitan Avenue in Kansas, which according to Google Maps is about 15 minutes away from where this UID was found and she matches the height just about.

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=Emmons+Drive,+Kansas+City,+Kansas,+United+States&daddr=49th+St,+Kansas+City,+Kansas+66106,+United+States&hl=en&ll=39.106887,-94.679832&spn=0.1721,0.308647&sll=39.097295,-94.714851&sspn=0.172123,0.308647&geocode=FfZwVQIdg1lb-inRcjKYevTAhzEAYZeIIUx5bw%3BFaP8UwIdRiBb-ikRCs92fu3AhzF0vccCvLYf4g&oq=49th&mra=pd&t=m&z=12

At this link and on her NAMUS profile it says Star Gail Boomer was involved in a violent incident with a man at this bar. She was knocked off her barstool and according to an article on the link below, was beaten unconscious. There is no mention of a wired jaw but the UID also had rib injuries and a "traumatic injury to the right middle forehead"

http://projectjason.org/forums/topic/895-missing-woman-star-boomer-ks-02231999/

Boomer has never had a proper funeral because her body has never been found. Boomer was a patron at Uncle Mike's Bar, 49th and Metropolitan, when she allegedly got into a violent fight with a man. "There were about 13 witnesses who saw her get knocked to the ground and beaten until she was unconscious," said Hurtie. "No one lifted a finger to help her."

Star's hair is described as blonde or "light brown" but not really a likeness to the artists impression. I just thought I would throw it in given she was last seen so close to where this person was found, the violence she suffered before it and the matching height/age. Star did have tattoos though. I don't know if February 1999-October 1999 would be enough time to have a body decompose to skeletal remains?

Not much new. Her DNA is available, which probably makes Star a ruleout by default since she has DNA as well.

Nancy Estremera appears to have a scar on her left temple and cheek precisely in the same location and same length as that on the UID.

She also very strongly resembles the reconstruction.

Her height and age are within range, and her DLC predates the discovery of the remains by 127 days (or just over 4 months).

But there is no mention that she had her jaws wired shut.

ETA: My screen yielded a few other women with similar scars or discolorations in the same location on the left temple and cheek. However, none of them have such similar facial structure.

Hello, I am Nancy Estremera’s son and I would like to confirm some information. When my mother disappeared I was too young to validate much information but now that I have come to this site I need to comunicate that she did have a jaw injury in her youth and an incident with her cheekbone.

I'm sorry I didn't see your post sooner. Thanks for including the extra information.

The decedent's jaw injury was recent, with the wires still in place, so that makes it unlikely she's your mother. We never did hear anything definitive back from LE.

We could start a thread for your mother in the Missing Persons Discussion area, if you'd like.

Could this be Theresa Ann Wallace?

  • Missing Since: July 20, 1990
  • Missing From: Urbana, Illinois
  • Classification: Endangered Missing
  • Sex: Female
  • Race: White
  • Age: 34 years old
  • Height and Weight: 5'3", 145 pounds
Medical Conditions:
Wallace has mild mental disabilities resulting from a traumatic brain injury sustained in a car crash during her teenage years. As a result, she has short-term memory issues, poor directional skills, and impaired judgment. She tends to be overly trusting of others.

Associated Vehicle:
Silver 1985 Chrysler LeBaron (accounted for)

Distinguishing Characteristics:
Caucasian female with brown hair and brown eyes. Wallace's ears are pierced, and she wears prescription eyeglasses with plastic frames.

Wyandotte County Jane Doe (1999)

  • Location of Discovery: Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kansas
  • Date of Discovery: November 1, 1999
  • Estimated PMI: 9 months to 9 years (1990 - 1999)
  • Sex: Female
  • Race: Undetermined
  • Age: 26-40 years
  • Height: 5'5" to 5'8"
Medical Conditions:
The victim had sustained various traumatic injuries, likely from an automobile accident prior to her death. She had a fractured jaw, which was previously wired together but had healed without the wiring being removed. Additionally, there was a healed indented fracture in the left temple area, which should have been noticeable to observers. Evidence of an old blunt traumatic injury was present on the right middle forehead, and the left second rib was fractured. The lower left ribs showed signs of arthritis, and the last lumbar vertebra exhibited spondylolysis.

Dental Records:
Available. The victim had extensive dental work previously, but her later dental care was poor.

Distance Between Locations: The distance between Urbana, Illinois, and Kansas City, Kansas, is approximately 6 hours and 11 minutes.

Similarities between Wyandotte County Jane Doe and Theresa Ann Wallace:

  • Estimated PMI: The Jane Doe's PMI ranges from months to 9 years (1990 - 1999), while Wallace went missing on July 20, 1990.
  • Sex: Both are female.
  • Age Range: The Jane Doe was estimated to be 26-40 years old, while Wallace was 34 years old.
  • Medical Conditions: Both experienced significant facial injuries consistent with automobile accidents. Wallace's head injury from her accident could potentially include a jaw fracture, especially given her mental alterations post-accident.
Differences:

  • Height: The Jane Doe was estimated to be between 5'5" and 5'8", whereas Wallace is 5'3".

Should this be submitted?
