Another month has passed - finding nothing current on my searches over here...

Tried searching again and only getting the most recent article of January, 2021.

Was wondering if someone in the U.S. finds a more current one with a court date maybe?

TIA!

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Nearly a year later, the Kansas City, Kansas community wants to make sure 3-year-old Olivia Jansen’s memory is not forgotten.

Back in July of 2020, she was found in a shallow grave, and court documents showed severe abuse. Now, family and friends are hoping to make Olivia’s memory into a piece of art.

In the next month, people are hoping a wall in KCK’s Armourdale neighborhood will be filled with the toddler’s memory, and all the things she loved on a mural dedicated to her. They say she will be an angel watching over them, and a reminder to keep children safe.

Jansen’s step-grandmother, Elisabeth Jansen, said the past year has been difficult, and they are still waiting to see justice served in her case.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A memorial for 3-year-old Olivia Jansen in Kansas City, Kansas, is moving forward, and now it will have a few more faces you might recognize.

One of them, 7-year-old Adrian Jones, who’s grandmother, Judy Conway, said she loves the project.

“I think it’s a great tribute to all these children,” Conway said.

Children from the metro and across the United States who have died from abuse will be featured in a new mural. That includes an angelic Olivia Jansen, a smiling reminder of what was lost.

Kosechata started the mural about a month ago. Originally it was going to be on a different building, but it was moved to another with much more space to honor more children. Adrian Jones, Pamela Butler, and Brian Edgar are all from the Kansas City area.

Looked for anything recent - just coming up with old articles - well - over here - maybe someone in the U.S. can find out "what" is going on with this case? TIA! :)

Jansen got arraigned on 2/17/21 - and that is the last hearing for him. For Kilpatrick, her last hearing was on 11/19/20.

Thinking of Olivia tonight, I hope the two evil monsters are suffering as they wait for trial.

The services listed above for Sedgwick and Wyandotte Counties are subscription services
Every County is a free search except the one I want to look at.

I saw a blip on Fox 4 Kansas City about Olivia's Dad this morning. It was in front of a court house. I didn't catch what all they were talking about. I thought they said something about sentencing as he pled guilty. I could be totally wrong, will have to wait and see if it come in print a little later.

jmo imo moo

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A woman accused of killing 3-year-old Olivia Jansen pleaded guilty Wednesday in Wyandotte County court.

Jacquelyn Kirkpatrick is the girlfriend of the little girl’s father, Howard Jansen III.

Kirkpatrick pleaded guilty to second degree murder, abuse of a child under the age of six and two counts of interference with law enforcement.
.....
Judge Mike Russell ejected one spectator from the courtroom after the man couldn’t control his outbursts while hearing details of the crime. Relatives declined to comment about the plea following the hearing.

In exchange for the guilty plea, Kirkpatrick must testify in the upcoming trial for Olivia’s father, Howard Jansen III.

Kirkpatrick is expected to be sentenced to 31 years and four months behind bars as part of this deal. Her sentencing hearing is scheduled for December 20.

@Niner so it wasn't her father it was his girlfriend that was in court today.

Thanks for the info @Jewels53 - so nothing for Jansen's next court date, eh?

So if her plea deal says she will testify at his trial - it has to be before 12/20 when she gets sentenced.

Hopefully there will be something "new" about when he goes to trial.

Anyone "think" Jansen's trial starts on 11/11? A little confusing read here...
