I have to give so much credit to Rita and the rest of Pat's family. They have conducted themselves with the utmost dignity and grace through the most trying of times. My heart breaks for each and everyone of them.

It is obvious that Pat did a terrific job of raising her children to become the most impressive, respected and respectful adults.

I feel so badly for all of them but am so thankful that they have put their faith in God during this horrible time.

Prayers for Pat, Rita and all the family.

I agree, the kids have been remarkable, always full of grace, in the middle of pain.
I can't remember who posted it the other day, but they described it as you could just "feel" the anguish of Pat's children through the posts. I wish we could take away their pain, the pain from all the people that have to go through this. I know sometimes you all have seen where I have gotten "fired up" on some of my posts, but I just can't stand it when somebody is mean to somebody or mean to an animal,...and this is way beyond being mean. Sometimes I may sound harsh, and really I am not a harsh person, but "justice" seems to have been put waaaay aside in the last few years. You can get in more trouble for writing a hot check than you can beating up someone, or even killing someone. Where is the "justice" in that? You see it in the papers all the time. When did "life" become worthless?
There will be a day when this kind of stuff will be no more...and I am looking forward to it. Revelation 21:4 "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."
Praying for Pat and her blessed children...always.

The St. Joe account went beyond the "dismantled vehicle" description: authorities seized a truck and a tractor.

Although I no longer live in Hiawatha(born and raised), I have been following Pat's disappearance since seeing it on the KNZA webpage. All of my family still lives in Hiawatha and kept me updated also. My heart and prayers go out to Pat's family.

Yesterday, when I'd been "benched by the coach," I decided to look around to become familiar with cases I hadn't followed. Pat Kimmi's case caught my eye because she's about my age. I read the last few posts and realized I needed to go to the beginning to get any idea of what was going on. So I read both threads -- I was so touched by Rita's heartfelt posts that I was committed at that point to follow this case until it was solved.

When I worked up to the latest posts again, they had been updated to include the information about the search warrant. What a shock! I actually got cold chills and postponed some errands so I could hear about the press conference that was expected.

I really hope Pat's family will have some kind of closure and justice for their mom. This case has really grabbed at my heart.

One thing, though. The original report of Pat missing indicated that it was some kind of "Silver Alert," implying that Pat wandered off because of some mental condition. That kind of misinformation has got to hurt in bringing attention to the case and even bringing witnesses forward -- considering people would be on the lookout for a confused woman wandering around. Wish they would be more careful in designating someone's disappearance a "Silver Alert."

Heartfelt thanks to Rita for posting this and understanding how interested we all are and how very much we want this solved for her whole family. I don't personally know any of the people involved in this (but I feel like I do).

Is anyone else a nervous wreck? I am just on pins and needles and checking all over the web all day trying to find the latest. I just can't help but think, "what if this was MY mom?" I think that is because looking at Pat-- you see a beautiful normal mom/ grandma and who in the hell could do ANYTHING to her?

WHO-EVER DID THIS NEEDS CAUGHT and I pray that there is enough good solid evidence to get them arrested today. I just ache for this family. I don't understand how they can deal with the past two months and now this.

I am saying a prayer right now. It'd be terrible to know who did it but not have enough evidence to arrest right now. I don't think I'd be able to handle it. What courage and what grace to be able to allow law enforcement handle this and take all the steps needed.

You all have done amazingly well and I pray that the Lord can sustain your strength through this. God bless and comfort you.

God grant the dogs powerful noses throughout the search.
Prayers that CSI finds the "what happened" because I suspect we might have a clue about the "who".

Yes! I've been a nervous wreck too. I've been checking all over for more updates since yesterday, hoping and praying that Pat's family would finally have some answers and that those who have caused this family so much anguish would be brought to justice. I know in my heart it will happen and soon.

Rita, I think many of us who were drawn to this case, for whatever reason, from the beginning became truly bonded to it when you began posting here. You have graciously allowed us to take this journey with you. You made us feel as though we all knew your Mom through your intensely heartfelt posts and shared everything you possibly could along the way. I couldn't have felt your pain, hope, love and faith more if I had been sitting at the kitchen table having a cup of coffee with you.

Many, many prayers have gone up for your Mom and your family since the beginning and I feel comfortable speaking for many in saying that we will be here until all the answers are found and you don't need us anymore.

Still praying and holding you all in my heart.

I too have felt a special interest in Patricia Kimmi's case.
At first it was because I am just a couple years older than her and I
related to her being on her own.
And then, it was not only that, but Rita and her family.
With each post, you could see the love that there was between the Kimmi children and their mom, Patricia.
It is a steady beacon of light for Patricia.

Where ever you are Patricia, you did a wonderful job with your children.

Stay strong Rita and all the family; he will be arrested any day now.

I've been following this story since the beginning but haven't posted until now. This case has touched me deeply and I'm not even sure why. Maybe because small-town Kansas has always seemed a safe place to me, and because Pat seems like such a normal, everyday good person.

In the news link above, I thought this was particularly sad: "They (the family) said they are learning about the details of the investigation through media reports."

Why can't the police keep the family updated privately? That seems like the proper thing to do.

I've been thinking the same thing! I assumed the family was being kept informed by LE until Rita advised us otherwise. I suppose there's a good reason and I'm pretty sure I know what it is. I really do believe that the LE on this case know exactly what they're doing. Anyone involved should be shaking in their boots right now. They're going down and I can't wait!

The KQ2/StJoeChannel.com link (Rita posted the earlier article above, at #562) now includes video about yesterday's search - better than the Kansas stations had last night - plus a link to Sheriff Calhoon's statement on KAIR radio.

I was so hoping for an arrest or arrests today. Holding my breath in solidarity with Pat's family.
