I don't quite understand..'arrests is up to Hill, Calhoon said'
Calhoon is the Atchison County Sheriff
Hill is the Brown County Attorney

Good point... since Atchison County is taking the lead on Pat's case, shouldn't the Atchison County DA make that decision... Pat was taken from Atchison Co... the wreck was in Brown Co... the Hollister place is in Nemaha? Co, so yeah--- why would Hill make the decision?

Anyone?

Perhaps they have evidence that a big part of the crime took place in Brown County?

Or he was just misquoted... if that could ever happen. (Sarcasm)

Rebecca Hollister Sues Husband For Medical Expenses, Damages
By Ike Larson and Joey May

As Roger Hollister prepares his defense in his attempted murder case, he now faces another legal battle: a civil lawsuit from the wife he allegedly tried to kill.
---
"The damagee sustained by [Rebecca Hollister] are as a direct and proximate result of the negligence of [Roger Hollister] are in excess of $75,000," Lee said. "Demand has been made on [Roger Hollister] to compensate [Rebecca Hollister] for the damages she sustained in the accident, but to date, [Roger Hollister] refuses and continues to refuse to pay [Rebecca Hollister] the damages she claims."

Also at issue in the lawsuit is the large amount of farm machinery slated for auction on Saturday at the couple's farmstead on V Road.

According to a handwritten statement included in the court file, Roger Hollister has transferred his ownership of the machinery to his attorney, James Heathman of Topeka, for legal services "rendered or to be rendered in any cases involving the disappearance of Patricia Kimmi and for representation on the case involving the attempted murder of Rebecca Hollister."
---
And recently filed documents in Brown County District Court link the Hollister attempted murder case to the Kimmi disappearance.

Thanks much for the link on the Hollister property. As per Mr. Hill and Brown County, there was one earlier clue as to his involvement:

Brown County Attorney Kevin Hill was also on the scene [of the second Hollister search], but when asked later about why he was there, he declined official comment.

Okay - this burns me up. :furious:

This woman suffered vast injuries due to her husband - and now he won't pay? And he has transferred ownership of farm equipment to his attorney? I believe his WIFE needs the money for medical expenses (and punitive damages) more than the attorney. Otherwise, she may be left with a huge hospital bill. I wish a judge would intervene and garnish some of the profits from the sale to make sure her bills are covered.

(I do understand some of you think she may have known about RoH's involvement and may even be guilty herself. But I don't have that kind of knowledge b/c I haven't followed alot of the details. So I'm just speaking of what I see 'on the surface' - a man who tried to kill his own wife and now won't pay her bills, yet makes sure he can secure legal assistance for himself....).

How can RoHo take all the marital assests and give them over to his counsel without her permission/approval? Aren't they hers just as much as they are his? I imagine a seperation/divorce is forthcoming since he seems to be separating himself from her entirely and leaving her out of everything; so would she possibly be entitled to alimony? What about this daughter that now has the property, is she visiting either parent, offering the property for financing/collateral? It would be interesting to see where she sits on things, and what she was told when RoHo approached her and said hey honey, let's put our house in your name. What reason was given?

I hadn't look at that lately...
the property was in the name of the daughter & is now in the name of the brother.

I'm seeing the daughter, JeHo, as the owner. Maybe you got the property across from the farm somehow?

I'm still seeing daughter, also.

My bad...I looked at the wrong one..
it is still in daughter's name...
but has been in her name at least since 2007 - no recent transfer.
Auctioneer had said the property had sold in the last couple of months...
but apparently has not closed.
I don't understand (from the Hiawatha article) why Roger would tell his attorney he would be receiving any proceeds from REAL ESTATE.

  • #351
It appears that at this time...
Roger is going to trial in Brown County..
Rebecca has filed a suit in Nemaha County..
They remain persons of interest in the Kimmi Case in Atchison County..

  • #352
the cj article has now been edited to the right prosecutor for the Atchison County case (it doesn't say Hill any more).

I just wanted to comment on something regarding ReH. If she indeed lured Pat out of the house, she should be charged right along with the other two.

However there is a chance that she may not have known about it until after the fact. I'm sure ReH put two and two together and figured out the her husband had something to do with this. I'm sure she knew that her husband owned that hat and money clip. She started questioning him about it, etc. If this is the case, she should get a deal.

I do want to see whoever did this horrible thing in jail forever even if it takes setting ReH free unless of course she actually took part in the kidnapping.

She should have came forward with the info. that he owned those things right when it first happened. BUT if that same thing happened to you, would you turn your own husband in without know absolutely for sure that he did it? Just on the fact that he owned those two things? Well, she also had the fact that not only did her husband own those two things but that he was also associated with EK. That would pretty much tell you that he did it.

I just don't know what I'd do. Especially if I was controlled and beat down. I don't know if she was controlled and beat down but gossip says she was.

Things are happening pretty fast now. There won't be much more of a wait.

I'm grateful that the Kimmi kids won't be wondering forever what happened to their mom. Nothing would be worse than that. I'm just sad that it will be a bittersweet ending.

This is said with utmost respect, because I know we all want one common goal,...Pat home...and justice served. However, I would pray that no matter how down I got that I would never forget what is right, and what is wrong. She knew, she received emails of the "Find Pat Kimmi" poster, pleading for someone to come forward. She "knows" alot of people in this area. She has had many times away from him....and did she help.....no.
If you are a hurting person yourself, why would you want to see someone else hurt that bad? I think IMOO that she is not the "naive creature" that alot of people think she is. IMOO, I think she is a mastermind of evil, the "brains" of the operation, IMOO:liar:

Here's a new theory out there (rumor only, folks ;) ), that's just CHOCK full of intelligence and compassion, said to be spoken under oath...

"A cougar ate her."

Yes, this person's theory is that a couger "got her and ate her". Drug her out of the house, leaving behind a hat and money clip. Said cougar drives a red dually pickup. Nobody's responsible for it, just an animal.

ETA: The most VALUABLE information supposedly offered by same person: "EK doesn't drink."

Thanks a bunch "erv". Our family appreciates it. :banghead:

Oh my. :banghead: is right.

Just remember this: The truth WILL be known.

A spouse is allowed to testify, they can't in some states be MADE to testify under oath (ie, can't be held in contempt of court for refusing to testify)...at least I think this is how it works

however....let's get real here....she knew his involvement/friendship with EK, she probably knew of his business dealings or whatever, the cap and money clip no doubt familiar...she may have been involved to lure Pat out of her home

at any point along the way she could have gotten herself away from him and run to the police station and thrown herself at their mercy and let them pick up her husband and she would be safe

instead she stayed with him...and he tried to kill her/him....now she is in the hospital but that does not excuse her in my way of thinking...I hope they all pay for whatever they did to Pat

The fact that she may be "controlled and beat down" gets my sympathy but ONLy up to the point where she became an accessory before or after the fact and for that I have zero sympathy for her

she had many chances to do the right thing...and she didn't. Victim?? No at some point people like her become a "volunteer".. I do hope she will start telling all she knows now finally
Are you sure you're not hooked up to my brain, lol :waitasec:, I could not agree more with you.:woohoo:

I didn't know ReHo hung out in bars and prayed on young men!

Oh wait, this numbskull means the large cat type of cougar. Uh huh. When little dogs and mini donkeys are available, surely THIS cougar prefered to knock on doors and wait on porches. Did this "cougar" also suggest to RoHo that he head on a semi? Set part of said truck on fire? Give RoHo his "back problems" causing him to sell off his farm and assets? Even in jest, that is the epitomy of lunacy. A big cat would leave a big mess.

:furious: :furious:

Rita, again, huge hugs your way.

Hollister Wife Suing Husband For Wreck

(WIBW) - A new twist in a case with ties to missing Atchison County woman Patricia Kimmi.

Rebecca Hollister filed documents in Nemaha County Court Tuesday morning, suing her husband Roger Hollister for negligence in connection with a February 26th car-semi crash in Brown County.
---
In a statement March 5th, Roger Hollister said he owes $120,000 to an attorney in the case of Kimmi. Hollister is listed as a person of interest in that case.

He also stated he will sell more property in a real estate auction this Saturday. In the documents filed Tuesday, Rebecca Hollister says Roger Hollister will benefit from the sale of jointly owned property and wants to keep her from getting it. She says her husband is liable for her injuries in the amount of $75,000.

I want all the answers out of her we can get, and then :behindbar
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but after what they did to Pat........and her family..........:back:is what ReH is doing now, and she needs to be held accountable:furious:

BBM - thank you for that laugh!

I mean really, I don't know how we'd be where we are today in the investigation without that person's insight and information. SO...I felt it was really important to share that.

Thank you for the hugs - I'll take 'em. I'm not feeling very kind today if you can't tell, lol.
