The lack of interest in this case, compaired to others that I have been involved in here on WS, kills me. Why is Lana being pushed aside? Only 2 members (besides myself which makes 3) and five guests viewing this thread? That alone breaks my heart.
I guess that poor baby never had a chance.

I am local to this case, and I work in Olathe, where Kaylie Bailey lived. I do not, however, know anyone connected to this case. It sounds like many of these people were heavily involved in criminal activity. So sad that there are a number of children mentioned in the article above that were fathered by various criminals. I hope that the remaining people involved with this shady group choose to change their lives before everyone involved is killed.

NOT victim blaming here, my thoughts go out to the families, but it is my hope that this horrific crime brings ongoing serious criminal activity in the area to a halt.

I also cannot imagine how the KBI did not find the bodies during their first search. How horrific for the friend that he had to make the presumed discovery and then go actually find the bodies for LE. It is time for KBI to start doing its job, both keeping criminals in jail and keeping citizens safe.

The KBI didn't go there first on Sunday, Franklin county sheriff dept. did. Also, in response to another post, Flack didn't shoot a woman, it was a man he shot & attempted to kill.

There were many horse trailers lined up down the road today, I saw at least 10 of them. Was such a somber sight when we came back to town tonight & saw several of them driving out of town, very slowly. Besides what the families must be going through, I really feel for all the aw enforcement and searchers,as well. There is a prayer vigil at the local park in Ottawa tomorrow night. I was going to go, but don't think it's a good place for my 2 small children, as a lot of people here are really upset, understandably so.

“That was a joke,” Ingram said. “It was a plea bargain. They said Kyle had no previous record, so the most they could give Kyle was a ‘hard five.’”

Ingram admitted even before the shooting, she was afraid of Flack.

“He was schizophrenic. He heard voices. He was very out of control,” she said. “It’s like if you look at somebody, you can tell either you got feelings or you don’t. And he was kind of a shell.”

Flack was supposed to be on probation for 15 years, but it ended up being just four. Ingram describes it as “getting a slap on the wrist for almost killing my brother.”
“I think Franklin County dropped the ball and could have done more then and this wouldn’t have happened.”

“If they would have done their job with Steve, Kyle wouldn’t have been able to do this today. These families — how will they feel when they find out Kyle has done this before?”

I would so love for her to be alive somewhere and safe. This Flack needs to be locked away for good and never paroled again.

There has to be a connection between Flack and one of the victims. I'm thinking it may be White after reading the histories in that article linked above. Otherwise, how would this remote farm be stumbled on randomly? I also can't understand where Lana may be. Why leave the adults there but take her "body" if he killed her too?

Wasn't it mentioned something about a burn barrel and baby socks found? Please tell me they looked in there for evidence! But I have a hard time with LE not finding the victims the first time they were out there.

Free didn’t know Flack had been released until he saw Flack working on a truck picking up trash in his neighborhood.

“They now are going to be looking for any kind of cell phone records or GPS information that would indicate where the person had been traveling,” Lanza said.

It would have been 2009 when Flack worked for the garbage company, wonder how long he worked there? I also wonder if the experience gave him a few ideas on how to dispose of something you would not want found. Sorry guys, hard to even type ...

I am glad that "hot mess" is just about over with.

We do have two threads going on this case, however. One is in the "Crimes in the News" section and one here. So, this case is getting a bit of attention.

O/T: Knox, where did you get your avatar? I'd like to get one like that.

I am sick to death of shortened sentences, probations and paroles. In fact, I'm sick of parole altogether. If they're that bad, keep them behind bars ! If victims could sue states for releasing early someone who goes on to commit more violent crimes, they might take the parole supervision seriously !

This case did not seem to get the media coverage that other cases get - I'm not sure exactly why. I stumbled upon it on Huffington Post of all places, which normally doesn't cover a lot of cases like this.

It's very sad that a child would caught up in the criminal and deranged minds of others. She didn't deserve this.

Another story I read recently said he was kicked out for not paying rent.

He was caught in Emporia,Kansas which is roughly 1 hour/ 60 miles from the house. There are two good size lakes on the route, Pomona & Melvern lakes. Also countless rivers, creeks, ponds, & acres & acres of farmland & thick wooded areas. With the abundant wildlife here, such as coyotes, bobcats, badgers, raccoon, etc., I think if she is not found soon, she might never be. It is so unbelievable, so horrific....I just can't believe this has happened here.

Steven White’s mother said she believes more than one person was involved and the motive may be drug-related. The sheriff said they are still pursuing leads and left open the possibility of more arrests.

Flack is expected to be officially charged sometime Friday.

Does anyone know if there is a scanner thread for the search for Lana? If so, a link would be appreciated. Also, has anyone heard anything about a presser this afternoon after changes are filed? TIA for your help!
