The information and child's picture are already on all statewide newspaper and TV stations, and their online sites. It is unlikely an AMBER alert would in any way increase the coverage for finding this child. There is no longer a missing vehicle, nor any other identified vehicle to be looking for on any highways. So, the reasoning is sound in this case.

It is my understanding that an Amber Alert requires a suspect vehicle description. Since Kaylie's car was found last night, sadly I guess it does not meet that part of the requirement. I think we have ALL commented on the need for REFORM!!!!!!!!!

Agreed Knox, but they had the mother's missing car description....which was found (later)....so I guess I'm thinking that the alert should have gone out when they realized the mom's car was missing....see below. And if the child is truly still "missing", I think it would have helped! And certainly could not have hurt.

Authorities identified the dead men as Andrew Adam Stout, 30, and Steven Eugene White, 31, who both lived at the farm. Bailey had gone to Stout’s residence a week ago for a visit.

Some reports say the two men had been missing since 25th April; in which case why hadn't Kaylie been worried? Why would she just go over there to drop off her baby when hadn't heard from her boyfriend in a week? Or had she heard from him but noone else had?

I'm really hoping that whoever did this has taken the baby and given her over to members of the ex-husband's family but the Facebook page disappearing so quickly is a concern.

sorry for posting so many times in a row. i think i need to slow down for a second. just a little surprised to see that in his prior conviction, the Offense date was May 2nd, 2005. KB went missing on May 1st. Throwing it out there..

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has rejected Franklin County's request for an Amber Alert to be issued for 18-month-old Lana-Leigh Bailey.

An agency spokesman said KBI would have issued one on Monday when three bodies were found, but said it's too late to do so now.

Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards contends that the case did not meet the Amber Alert criteria on Monday, but should now. He said he is doing everything he can to get KBI to issue an Amber Alert.

The two agencies also disagree over whether a man is in custody in connection with the slaying of Lana-Leigh's mother and two other men. In a news release, KBI said a suspect is in custody while Richards repeatedly said a person of interest is being questioned but no one is in custody in connection with the slaying.

Some murderers have a code of ethics when it comes to children. I'm thinking that he will not give up the location of Lana because that would link him to the three murders. What I am hoping anyway.

Okay... if the FATHER is NOT there... and the mother is... and the baby is NOT???

If the father and mother ARE there and the baby is not... FIND THE BABY! :banghead:

Talk about covering their butts... they didn't even recognize the smell of rotting bodies?

Is it just me that all those involved really didn't take much interest in the where abouts of the this little girl until the id's had been confirmed. Seems like the ball has been dropped many times with this case. Those involved should be coming together to find this child and stop the bickering. So hope this little girl is alive and safe.
