I may be out of my depth here because I don't have network TV but it doesn't seem like this is getting a lot of attention. THIS is the time when Lana's face needs to be everywhere! It's a shame because I bet there will be more coverage of the <modsnip> court time than raising awareness about Lana in hopes she can be found alive. Has it been reported on any major networks? I know Nancy Grace used to feature missing children on her show. Does she still do that? If so, has Lana been on? TIA

I absolutely understand holding out hope. My thinking would be that if LE has enough info to charge Flack with Lana's murder, then they are certain she is gone...and most likely Flack is the only person who has any information that will lead to her body. In that case, media attention just isn't as helpful. I pray her little body is found for her family's sake and my prayers go out to them in this horrible nightmare. There is such evil in this world.

Body of toddler Lana-Leigh Bailey found in Osage County, Kan.

A body believed to be that of the 18-month-old daughter of murder victim Kaylie Bailey was found Saturday in Osage County, Kan., authorities said early Sunday.

Lana-Leigh Bailey had been presumed dead, but searchers had been unable to locate her body, despite six days of intensive searching.

That search came to an end late Saturday, the Franklin County, Kan., sheriff’s department said, when a deputy from neighboring Osage County found human remains.

A positive identification could not be made, but Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards said it was likely that of the toddler and expressed sympathies for the family of the child.

Authorities said early Sunday they believed they had found the body of 18-month-old Lana Leigh Bailey, who was killed last week with her mother and two men at a home in rural Ottawa.

Speaking at a hastily called news conference shortly after 1 a.m., Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards said the body had been found in Osage County Saturday evening. Final identification had not yet been made, he said, pending a medical examination.

"It is not the outcome we'd hoped for, but (we) knew we couldn't stop searching until Lana was home," Richards said.

An Osage County sheriff's deputy was checking an area believed to contain items related to the homicides and found the body. The Johnson County Sheriff's Office crime scene unit was requested to respond and process the new crime scene, Richards said.

Oh, no! Not the outcome we hoped for, but I am thankful she was found so soon, making identification much faster. Such a terrible waste... why couldn't he just have taken the baby somewhere safe and let her live?! She was no threat to him. I will never understand what's in the minds of these sick freaks... Sorry, but this is so sad!

Osage County, where the baby's body was found, is adjacent to Franklin County and one would pass through it, probably on I-35, on the way to Emporia, where the suspect was arrested.
