Can anyone be a sweetheart and share a quick recap of this mornings testimony? Missed it all

Defense called several LE and tried to insinuate that they didn't take care of the crime scene very well.

One LE was chewing gum on the stand. Another had chew in.

A witness left the stand with evidence and had to be chased down by a defense lawyer to get it back.

Witness on the stand now is some sort of forensics expert and is going over the BDU's (pants) that Seacat was wearing.

We are now at lunch until 1:15 central time.

Oh UGH, guy on HLN that just testified is being interviewed. He says in his opinion the state has NOT proved that Seacat did this.

:sigh:

I think there is NO question. He is guilty as sin.

That just astonishes me. This is one of the most open-and-closed cases I've ever followed!!

Is the trial being held in Mayberry? Or the Twilight Zone?

Is this the witness that testified earlier today.
If so, how would he know what evidence the state put forward if he was not allowed to watch or attend the trial.

I'm not so sure that some witness' aren't banned from the room????

Otherwise, then the guy was just talking out of his a**.

Either that or I know this is waaaay out there but I wonder if this lady fears Brett Seacat trying to attach her possessions/wealth to pay for his defense team.

That's true, she may have some sort of legal liability since she was the first (and seemingly legal) wife. Wonder if they filed a tax return together? That's one way people common law marry in Texas.

Thanks Shelby. I am not too enthused by this trial. Please tell me the prosecution presented a stellar case....

Welllll......I wouldn't call it stellar.

A large problem is that the coroner wasn't able to determine suicide or murder on the death certificate.....sooooooo.......

Hopefully the jurors will connect the dots :sigh:

I Don't think that is a huge problem when the report shows No smoke. soot or ash in her lungs meaning that she was not breathing in a fire before she died.
He said she started the fire. Well she can not start it if she is dead. So she would have to start it ahead of time and there would be some evidence in that in her lungs.

And how someone can start a fire after they've shot themselves in the head - all the while not breathing so as to not consume soot - is a miracle.

She probably wants to get a $$ judgement while Seacat still has something to his name. If this is not a publicly funded defence then the lawyers may have liens on his property, pension etc. She also may want to make sure she is separated from him legally so that creditors do not come after her....or a wrongful death lawsuit that may be coming.

Some amazing factoids in this case aye ? Most amazing to me is Seacat was "supposedly" CSI guy...really ? Holy cow. Call me confused as corn. :D

Don't pick on Kansas folks, they sure feed us pretty well.

Ya think?? Kind of like the Magic Bullet...

I am amazed that the coroner would not put a cause of death down but To me the point of entry of the bullet, The fact that there is no smoke in her lungs, And that this fire was started with Gasoline, So that would have been a big fire fast, I would have had no problem accepting this is a homicide.

And who knows, he could have even strangled her before he shot her. I wouldn't put it past him. He's scary.
