I finally got what this witness is testifying to, he found no smell of gasoline on Mr. Seacat's pants........

It took long enough to actually get to this? Or is it just me not getting it sooner....or is there more to his testimony?

The smell test? But I wouldn't say someone wasn't poisoned if everyone in the room failed to smell the arsenic...we aren't talking bloodhounds. Noses sounds like psychics both not scientific IMO

Weathered gasoline is when you leave the cap off and some evaporates leaving this "weathered gasoline".

How can this expert witness do these tests without lab equipment?? He can't. So is he talking about the test 'in general'?

I don't think that this witness did those tests.....he took some test results from one of the investigators and put them on one page and is now explaining them! LOL.....Witness said he was not very good at reading other's handwriting.......lol!

Some amazing factoids in this case aye ? Most amazing to me is Seacat was "supposedly" CSI guy...really ? Holy cow. Call me confused as corn. :D

Don't pick on Kansas folks, they sure feed us pretty well.

Thanks, Charlie :seeya:

I have fields of wheat and corn growing as we speak :)

Edited to say that ya'll can poke fun all you want.....I can take it ;)

What is this??? The gasoline.

It was weathered... Does that matter so much?

Reading, smelling senses that decline over time. I hold little faith because I don't trust the accuracy of his nose! period. And if he has trouble reading then I question him reading results.

The "smell test" was good enough to not test Brett's pants, but now we're getting into this boring testimony about gasoline. What's this about?

Defense is trying to prove that Mr. Seacat did NOT have any gasoline on his pants from the night of the fire......no gasoline on his pants means he did not set the house on fire to the defense! This witness had to compare the pants to weathered gas because he did not get brought into the case until the supposed gasoline on the pants had "weathered".

Defense attorney: What have we learned??

ME: Not a darn thing!!!!! :scared::facepalm:

The evidence was not handled and processed properly. Evidence was not properly packaged and sat for 22 mos.

Hydro carbons got out of the bag!

Me: How much money are you getting paid for your work on this case sir??

  • #539
Gee, someone who trains CSI stuff to LE and he doesn't have any evidence on him. ya think!?

What I look at is he ONLY had on pants, NO shoes, NO shirt, Nothing else. IMHO, he wore a long sleeve shirt and gloves to commit the crime and left them at the scene to start the fire. He jumped into a pair of pants, grabbed the kids and left.

It's really not that difficult to figure out.

JMHO

LOL hydro carbons got into the evidence bag from the duct tape that was used to seal or reseal it......and apparently hydro carbons are also byproducts of a "FIRE". Witness is just trying to make the police work on this case look unprofessional all the way around.
