Is the jury sequestered until verdict? Niiiice

Deliberation begins. It's up to the jury how long they want to stay. Let the Judge know by 5 p.m. whether they want to stay, and the court will order dinner for them.

Recess and Deliberation starts now.

jury to decide how late they want to stay...do they want dinner brought in?
do they want to start fresh tomorrow a.m.?

  • #164
I can not imagine what that feels like. To have 12 people walk off to decide your future.

I don't think this will take too long.

I thought the lone alternate is "sequestered" alone while deliberations are ongoing. I don't think he meant the whole jury, right?

No, the jury isn't sequestered. :seeya:

I wonder how much time we'll have between verdict and when they announce it?

Praying for a guilty verdict and justice for Vashti and her boys.

  • #169
I'm betting either today or tomorrow we'll have a verdict of Guilty on it all.

What does everyone else think?

:praying:

Me too - Praying for a guilty verdict and Justice for Vashti, and her boys, and her family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. She did not want to die. Brett took her life.

I thought that was very clever of the prosecutor to ask the jury to listen to the 911 tape. To the lack of background noise, the slamming door, him running up the stairs. I can't recall what else the jury should be able to hear in the background but bottom line all I hear is Brett out of breath.

If we get the announcement from HLN it will be after they are finally done showing the closing statements......is HLN showing them at all? Cause right now they are showing golf disc or some such thing. I just now turned it over to online HLN through Dish when the feed went to colored bars.

I hope they stay late tonight so we can have a verdict early tomorrow, however, they are probably really exhausted.

I'm not sure how long between them announcing and the verdict. I don't think very long since this judge seems punctual.

I think late tomorrow or early on Wednesday. It wouldn't take me 1 hour, but giving 12 people time to opine and discuss takes time. I'd want to talk about it for a while, even if we all agreed. Its' a life decision.

I pray you're right!

I felt way more confident about Jodi Arias' outcome.....maybe it's just because I'm from Kansas and I don't want my people to let me down.

AAAAHHHH, they won't let you down. From my somewhat limited exposure to the great people of Kansas (my oldest daughter moved there 8 years ago) I have found they are a no nonsense type of people. I think this jury will do Vashti and her two little boys what should be done for justice.

April 29, 2011 shortly before 8 a.m. Vashti drops the kids off at daycare.
Brett is at work, in his office, legal papers on his desk, at 10 a.m.
noon-Vashti goes for lunch with her work friend. Vashti bought a $50 money order for parenting classes.
Brett asks a coworker for a overhead projector. Said he needed it to research a fraud thing.
Later in the day BS was seen taking the projector back to the old dorms.
at 1600 Brett torches two hard drives, says he has to get rid of them. Also destroyed cell phones.
4:53 p.m. texting between Vashti and Brett
5:25 Vashti picks the kids up from daycare
Later in the day Vashti is texting her friend about a treadmill.
Further into the evening around 9 p.m. texts another person, Jill, that Vashti allows Brett to stay until Sunday at noon.
1111 p.m. Vashti is on Facebook accepting friend requests. Logs off.

Impressive closing. Kudos to the Prosecution.

Ms. Hanley took the time to dispel the HCG side effects of depression, but that is what has me concerned on how much weight the jurors will put on this natural source drug.

To her advantage, Ms. Hanley made sure the jurors thought some about Brett having the tool box and probably doing his own body building drugs, at least at one time.

I don't know what jurors may think though.
Leave the whole HCG out of it, I say, because if it was not causing any uncontrollable side effects like a noticeable deep depression or wild mood swings then it isn't part of the equation.

Vashti wouldn't be acting so consistently upbeat and taking care of future business so efficiently. Where did anyone see any bad side effects from the HCG?

Then, leave it out of deliberations, IMO.

I believe he is guilty. ~~BUT~~ the evidence is very strong that he is not. This guy was good at covering his tracks.

The jury has a tough job.
