It's been two years since a man was killed at Churchill Downs just hours after a record-setting Kentucky Derby... Police said despite no arrests the investigation has progressed with potential suspects identified...

Back then police released little about how Perez died or why. Now, Kessinger confirmed it was blunt force trauma. "We do believe the motive was a robbery. There were certain items the victim had in this possession prior to the attack and those items are missing now," said Kessinger.

He admitted it's a slow process with this case partly because of the transient lifestyle on the backside.
