I hope the family are able to confirm whether or not it was him. It seems they are not revealing many details about this disappearance!

If Alex is not wanting to be found - off on a holiday expedition - he must have done a little planning. I'm curious if the out of state cell number was really a cell phone or if Alex (possibly) has a laptop and is using an online number. It's a police matter, but if the employer had the number the man (perhaps Alex) used, some amount of tracing could be done. Prepaid cell phones could at least be traced back to the store of purchase. An online number would at least have some kind of email address related to it. It might not locate him, but at least indicate he is still okay.

I agree. Hopefully LE is paying close attention to the posts on the Find Alex J. Facebook page. The poster I've been talking with gave details on that page about having his (possibly Alex) phone number. He also said that he left in a red Ford f150 possibly 1998 vehicle with a female.

It def could just be a coincidence that this guy just looks a lot like Alex......I'm rather hoping it is him though......just hate to think a young person like him could have been a victim of foul play.

another thought, is it normal for the fire dept. to do these searches? I notice that the other article, (the wlex one) didnt not mention LE was there...seems weird to me.

In my city it is. We have a trained dive team made up of firemen from across the different fire houses.

I just don't get the quietness about this case! If it were my brother or my boyfirend, my son, I would be demanding ground searches, aerial searches, scent dogs in and around the apt. I'd be checking all surveillance cameras along Hanover Ave, Old Richmond area, and campus...and maybe this is happenning, but there has been no reports of it??? Someone somewhere knows something...I just hope and pray that he is found soon!

I just saw that thread. I wonder if she has any connections to the Lexington area or UK...Another poster that has been in contact with the guy in MS who says a man tgat looks identical to Alex came to work for him for one day but then didnt come back said he was with a female?..

Cell phone, wallet and keys missing. Wonder if the phone pinged near clays ferry bridge and that's why they were looking in the river?

I am also local to Lexington and have been following this story. I met Alex once, through a mutual friend, so I can't pretend to be an expert on anything. But he was a sweet guy and this story is heartbreaking and I have him and his family in my thoughts. I'm not sure I believe that he just left. Tonight is cold and snowy and I hope that he is warm and safe wherever he is.

I just sent him a message to see if he got a good look of the girl in truck with "Alex". I saw the story about her missing just a couple of hours ago. She is actually from the same town I live in. I feel so sorry for these families

Ok, he just answered. He said he didn't really get a good look at her. What he could see is that she had brown hair. He said she stayed in the truck with the window up. But he did say to find out if she has family/friends in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area. He said the "Alex" guy said they were going to go stay with her sister in Gonzalez Louisiana. He also just added that he has talked to Alex's girlfriend and the detective in the case....I'm so glad he did
