Any reason he may have gone to California? I just saw where a UID was found in CA that has dark hair, 5'9 and 165 ibs. a little off for Alex but I am looking at all possible connections. UID has size 11 shoes.

Alexandra. ... does the guy that says he hired Alex know what date he talked to him? And what date they left in the red truck?

He didn't give me the exact date. However, he said "Alex guy" called him Friday about a job. He said this on Jan. 1 so he must have meant "Alex" called on 12/28. Then he only worked with the guy for one day. According to this guy, the next day is when he saw the missing poster on FB. So, I'm thinking "Alex" may have worked 12/29 or 12/30?? The missing poster actually came out on 12/26 but didn't really get going good for a few more days. I think he left in the red truck the day he worked....because he never came back for his pay.

I'm really perplexed about this case. I read last night on the Find Alex FB page someone commented about needing a citizens group to help search and collect money for a reward for info. Shortly after that comment the admin of the page commented "The detectives don't feel a reward will help to draw any important information at this time."

Does anyone with more experience in these missing cases have any idea why a reward wouldn't help?? That just seems like a really strange comment if it came from the detectives. Sounds like they know way way more about this case than is being shared.

What are your thoughts on this?

I found that to be a very strange comment also. Cathay doesn't seem to jive with the lex police saying this is a suspicious disappearance. Kinda makes me think they know a lot more than has been released. Hope so anyway. IMO of course

IMO.....I don't know how it could be Alex that's the same person who worked for this guy out of state. It just doesn't make sense to me....according to all the reports he had a very active social life, a girlfriend and a job. If he had been hopping from state to state working random jobs, I think that people would have noticed any absenses.... There would be some evidence that he had been leading a double life. Or if he started this new life after his disappearance, there would surely be something showing he was looking to go in a new direction....

The out of state activities, if Alex, occurred about a week after Alex disappeared from Lexington, Ky. So, it could be feasible, but of course yet to be proven it is actually him.

I totally don't get the response from the Lex PD about not wanting a reward?..But my faith and trust in them is pretty low... They don't have exactly the best reputation I think they are just writing his disappearance off as he ran away on his own accord, which I don't believe!

My first thought when reading the circumstances was attempted robbery. Maybe he had been considering purchasing jewelry (engagement ring) for his girlfriend. He could have mentioned it to some co workers, and someone could have assumed he had a large amount of money on him to make the purchase and decided to rob him of it. Far fetched, but a possibility.

Does anyone know the nature of work mystery Alex did for a day in Louisiana?

Yes, Arkgirl it was a kitchen remodel and the day he worked they were tearing out the old kitchen. This guy I've talked with said he even showed the Alex missing poster to the homeowner afterwards and she agreed that he looked just like the person who worked there the one day.

Bumping this for Alex!!! Where are you??? Somebody knows something in my opinion! Again I ask... WHY HAVE THIER BEEN NO ACTIVE SEARCHES? Has his family or gf been to Lex since his disappearance?

I just now saw on the Find Alex Johnson FB page that they posted two pictures, under the heading "the search continues". Pictures are of Ky Bloodhound Search and Rescue worker searching a residential area and another of workers searching a cliff looking area along a road. No date on photos.

They also posted this about 45 minutes ago..."There will be a benefit to help Find Alex Johnson at Mellow Mushroom Lexington Thursday January 9th 7-11pm. More information to follow."
