I didn't see a thread on this young lady and just read an article that said searchers may have found human remains but unknown yet if this is Christina.

Edwards says Christina told the family she was going to London, Kentucky with a man she had known for a few months, having originally met him on the internet.

"She thought she had a boyfriend, a steady boyfriend, for months," says Edwards.

The family is concentrating most of their energy on Route 80 between Prestonsburg and Hazard, where Miss Barnett was last reportedly seen at a gas station on the same night that she was reported missing.

The family is asking that anybody driving along Route 80 is also on the lookout.

Christina's family says the 34-year-old is an avid Facebooker and texter.

When the texts and status updates abruptly stopped, Edwards says she knew something was not right.

The search group looking for a missing Johnson County woman say they found her body in Knott County Wednesday. Kentucky State Police aren't releasing an identity just yet, but Christina Barnett's family says they stumbled upon her remains.

Since Wednesday, people in Knott County have been searching for 34-year-old Christina Barnett, but no one has looked more than her own family.

"They were out here searching yesterday," said Brandon Muncy.

Neighbors who live in the area helped the family in the search, they say.

"I tried to help them all I could," said Freddie Messer.

Freddie Messer was the last to see Barnett a week ago at a gas station. Family say Barnett was in a truck headed to London with a man she met online. After she disappeared, Messer told her sister all he knew.

I know Highway 80 well. Wonder where this man was from originally? Who did the truck belong to? Local news are saying this body was badly burned. But thats about all they're saying.

I hate these stories. Apart from the tragedy it is sad that people meeting on social media are getting killed. I have a partner I met on SM, been together for 12 years now. It is a great way for shut ins or non drinkers to make friends but like all relationships, things can go wrong. I don't think SM is any more dangerous than meeting up in a bar with someone yet it seems so sad that people feel they are in love with strangers they never met just to be killed. At least in a bar there isn't the same issue of betrayal.
