METCALFE COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) - Authorities in Metcalfe County have issued a Green Alert for a man in Metcalfe County. A Green Alert is an alert system used in Kentucky for missing veterans.

The sheriff’s office is searching for 35-year-old Corey N. Hart who went missing on July 8 after reportedly leaving his home on Breeding Road in Edmonton.

Hart is 5 foot 9 inches tall, 180 pounds with dark blond hair, medium build with blue eyes. Officials say he was last seen wearing a dark-colored short sleeve shirt with khaki-colored tactical pants and possibly carrying a dark gym bag.

Hart is a retired member of the military. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts should contact 270-432-3041.

Emory Kidd, director of Metcalfe County Emergency Management, said the green alert covers veterans or active members of the military who are considered at-risk with PTSD or other mental health conditions.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the whereabouts of Hart to contact Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office 270-432-3041. You can also email Metcalfe County Emergency Management at [email protected].
 
Sad news -- he was found deceased. An arrest has been made.


EDMONTON, Ky. (WBKO) - A California man was charged with the murder of a man who was reported missing in Metcalfe County.

Christopher Leon, 38, of Calipatria, California, was charged with the murder of Corey Nathan Hart, 35, of Greenfield, Wisconsin.

Kentucky State Police reported they received a missing persons call on Aug. 11, 2022. Police said that the missing person, later identified as Hart, was last seen at a home on Breeding Road in Metcalfe County.

On Feb. 22, police received information that possible human remains had been found on Betty Sparkman Road in Metcalfe County.

Police confirmed that the remains were human and DNA testing determined that the remains were Hart’s.

Police then received information leading them to Leon, who was arrested on Feb. 23 in Lexington.

Leon was taken to the Fayette County Detention Center.
