I saw bits and pieces of the report on Nancy Grace tonight. If I'm not mistaken, I believe her car was found almost 12 miles away from where her boyfriend lives. This of course would mean that he couldn't have planted the car there, staged the scene and walked home. He would need a ride or an accomplice were that the case.

There is the possibility that he flagged her down along the highway, she pulled over and got into his vehicle and they left the scene together. A review of his cell phone records may give a good indication of his movements that day, and might help to either clear him or implicate him. I haven't heard if he has an alibi or not, such as being at a job, so I'm assuming that he doesn't.

It's possible a police officer pulled over and picked her up.....or.....someone she knew. She would be well known to a lot of cops around there, and were she to be seen broken down on the highway, I can't imagine one of them wouldn't stop.

A stranger on stranger abduction seems the least likely to me. First of all, she would never accept a ride from a total stranger AND get into his car. She had AAA road service and didn't call it. She had a cell phone in her car, and didn't use it. She could have called her Dad, her boyfriend, her neighbor, her girlfriend............she didn't. She didn't dial 911. If she was sitting on the side of the road with a flat tire, somebody she knew pulled up and she got into the car with them.

If the car was planted there, someone could have easily stabbed a sidewall of the car with a knife or a screwdriver in order to puncture it. This kind of act would be VERY obvious to an investigator though. Same goes for bleeding the air out through the valve stem. Road hazards don't usually result in that kind of damage to a tire.

I think the reason the reward is so high is due to this "supposedly" occurring on the side of the highway. Someone speeding by there had to have seen who was inside the car as well as outside the car, as well as if there were other cars parked in front or behind hers. Long story short, somebody had to have seen who exited that car after it was parked there. What they need right now more than anything is a witness to come forward and tell who they saw and what they saw. 60K would be a pretty good incentive.

You are psychic : )

I am so curious what all I missed out on last night. Too sleepy to google now, but hoping for a big break soon. I also have always been a night owl. I work part time 8-2 cst & shuttle 2 busy kiddos around the rest of the time. I will be sleepy tomorrow but sometimes it is worth it

It sounds like someone brought up the brother being a cop. Some of us on here already knew but couldn't say anything about it because it hadn't been in the media yet.

Interesting...Since the Houck "family farm" is on Paschal Ballard Road with 240/245 acres
At 1 am
BBM - That was the time the article was published. It goes into more detail at the link.

"The fire department was paged at 7:10 p.m. after someone called to report heavy black smoke in the area."

County firefighters respond for fire in area of Paschal Ballard Road
https://www.facebook.com/ncgazette/posts/10153441484778255

-------------------------------------
That's the road that leads in and out of their family farm. It's also a dead end road, according to the google map. What's going on with these people ? Are they deliberately attracting attention to themselves, or are they simply toying with people's minds ?

Firefighters responded to and found an illegal burn pile on Paschal Ballard Lane. Firefighters extinguished the fire and left the scene at 8:09 p.m.

WOW! Thanks for the very informative/awesome map of everything in this case!
IMO BH thinks he's above the law. Arrogant like Drew Peterson.

The more things that keep happening at that family farm makes me think that they aren't going to find her there. It seems as though it's being used as a diversion. Then again, it could simply be a case where the neighbors around there are hyper-sensitive and alert due to the circumstances surrounding all of this. Two weeks ago, I doubt somebody burning leaves or trash way out there would have generated a phone call to 911.

We'll see how important they think the farm and the fire is if they get another search warrant to inspect those ashes!

Would they be so dumb to start a rolling fire with black smoke and call more attention to themselves?

I donno know!

It reminds me that the people running this investigation shouldn't be locals..............endo story.

Imagine Drew Peterson.....with an accomplice.

A bit like the conflict of interest in the Jessica Chambers case, which is now 7-months plus old....JMO

The answer is yes..........and yes.

If you want to really get creeped out.......go back and read my post #60, when I first commented on this case. It even creeps me out.......maybe I am psychotic...................I mean psychic.....................no..............I mean psychotic.

Ya I just read your post #60...you are psychotic haha because it was pretty bang on! I agree with most of it except the fact she was picked up along the way by someone she knew. If this were the case she would have 100% taken her cell and purse etc with her. So this means small percentages say it was a stranger who took CR with a small struggle into another vehicle if she was in that car. A person she knew would not have to struggle with her but since parent's know their children best and her dad says she would have no reason for being out that way, I am leaning towards the following...The car was being taken somewhere to be dumped and the suspect has really bad luck and ended up with a flat and had no choice but to leave the car there and go with plan B. Or this was staged on purpose with a nail put in the tire so it looks like CR was stranded and anyone but the "suspect" would be looked at. Now if it was BAD LUCK and there was an accomplice, it is possible someone may have seen a vehicle pull up behind CR's car on the shoulder of the hwy (possibly the vehicle LE is being elusive about whether it is in the SHOP to be repaired or confiscated for forensic testing). A certain suspect should be hoping they did not have an active cellphone at that time if the car was being staged. If BH is involved LE will certainly be able to tell by his cell phone activity or landline activity between the hours of 10pm and 6am the night/morning in question. Unless there was only person to person conversations with a possible accomplice at a certain family property. E I E I O

I agree with you, I think the car was being driven down that highway in an effort to put distance between where the crime occurred and where the search for her would be centered. I've amended my thinking on quite a few things, as more and more pieces of this puzzle have been revealed.

Initially I thought Houck might be getting a bad rap just because he was the live-in boyfriend, they always get pounded the hardest when a woman goes missing. Once the timeline was revealed however, and there was this huge gap of time between when she was last seen at the family farm, and then when he returned alone to the family gathering with child in tow, my suspicions started to shift a little bit.

If this was planned out as well as it appears to be, I highly doubt anyone was carrying a cell phone with them when that car was disabled along the side of the road. That entire event, the flat tire I mean, probably sparked a whole lot of panic and hurry-up hurry-up activity on the part of the driver.

I find it almost impossible to believe that the driver of that vehicle could have walked 12 miles in the dark, being illuminated by the headlights of every car that drove by, walked all the way THROUGH town in front of surveillance cameras, under street lights, passing motorist, barking dogs, people filling up their car with gas, and cops on patrol........and nobody reports seeing such a thing after she vanishes.

If there is one thing that is always memorable, it's driving along a dark highway and suddenly illuminating a person walking along the shoulder unexpectedly. Invariably it almost always invokes the response of , "That d%&**&s is gonna get nailed by a car if he isn't careful". No, I think that car was abandoned due to the flat tire, and the driver was picked up somewhere right there close to it by the same person that was planning on giving him a ride back to town anyway.

Did yall read the post 4 hrs ago by Bourbon City News? Sounds like Nelson County Sheriffs is taking more stuff from BHs house and that the brother's house appears vacant (ETA: SM comments say he moved from there prior to Crystal going missing). They must be hunkered down at Mama's farm...

Reminds me of the Bennet Family on the show Justified. So hinky.

Based on how BH answers questions in an interview it won't be long before he pulls a Dewey Crowe and has one of his bread crumbs lead back to him...if he does have something to hide. Justified is one of my top 10 shows along with Banshee!
