Missing with none of your belongings is a major reason to suspect foul play!

If you insist on using that kind of well thought out logic and reasoning, you're running the risk that you may never be asked to join the police force as an investigator. :shame:

I saw bits and pieces of the report on Nancy Grace tonight. If I'm not mistaken, I believe her car was found almost 12 miles away from where her boyfriend lives. This of course would mean that he couldn't have planted the car there, staged the scene and walked home. He would need a ride or an accomplice were that the case.

There is the possibility that he flagged her down along the highway, she pulled over and got into his vehicle and they left the scene together. A review of his cell phone records may give a good indication of his movements that day, and might help to either clear him or implicate him. I haven't heard if he has an alibi or not, such as being at a job, so I'm assuming that he doesn't.

RSBM

Great post Steelman.

Guessing it Would have taken about 4 hours to walk home.

Cell pings would show this, but phone may have been left at home?

Where was her child during all of this if this is the case? (Makes me think of another case I'm following :( )

So am I correct in saying that her car was left on the side of the road at night?

Just thinking out loud. My gut tells me one thing but how and why is what I'm having trouble with..

So I saw the end of NG and apparently her father said if she had a flat she would have never stop on the side of the road. She would have continued to an exit. And he knows this because she has done it before.
Her dad also said that her child was with dad. That was the last time he saw her, when she dropped the child of.
The last time she was seen was earlier in the day at Walmart with her kids.
I'm sure there was more. That's all my brain retained with an extremely chatty 4 year old 😔

The reward's been upped, but not much in the way of news.

Reward now $40k for info on Crystal Rogers; police, family searches continue
Nelson County Gazette, Bardstown KY

I hadn't seen that she was kin to the Barnes lady. I'd heard about her murder, but I thought she'd been dismembered and scattered around the woods near Sympson Lake (Bardstown). Not the Ohio River...

Her car was found in the Ohio River near Clarksville, Indiana about a week after she went missing. She was found in Nelson Co. i don't remember the exact location but I remember they got a tip and spent a long time (maybe weeks?) digging before they found her. It was 3 years before they found her body.

From the Kentucky Standard newspaper:

Houck and Rogers were living together, according to Rogers’ family, and have a 2 ½-year-old child together, Elijah Thomas Houck. Rogers also has four other children, including two by her estranged husband, Keith Rogers, according to Mattingly.

Rogers’ mother, Sherry Ballard, said Monday Houck has “Eli” in his custody.

“He’s with his daddy, and his daddy won’t let me see him,” she said.

If you were completely innocent would you really keep that poor grandmother from seeing her daughter's child?

Is he afraid he may tell grandma something important? Or just angry that the family are questioning him?

This is starting to have some similarities to the Danielle Sleeper case.

It's possible a police officer pulled over and picked her up.....or.....someone she knew. She would be well known to a lot of cops around there, and were she to be seen broken down on the highway, I can't imagine one of them wouldn't stop.

A stranger on stranger abduction seems the least likely to me. First of all, she would never accept a ride from a total stranger AND get into his car. She had AAA road service and didn't call it. She had a cell phone in her car, and didn't use it. She could have called her Dad, her boyfriend, her neighbor, her girlfriend............she didn't. She didn't dial 911. If she was sitting on the side of the road with a flat tire, somebody she knew pulled up and she got into the car with them.

If the car was planted there, someone could have easily stabbed a sidewall of the car with a knife or a screwdriver in order to puncture it. This kind of act would be VERY obvious to an investigator though. Same goes for bleeding the air out through the valve stem. Road hazards don't usually result in that kind of damage to a tire.

I think the reason the reward is so high is due to this "supposedly" occurring on the side of the highway. Someone speeding by there had to have seen who was inside the car as well as outside the car, as well as if there were other cars parked in front or behind hers. Long story short, somebody had to have seen who exited that car after it was parked there. What they need right now more than anything is a witness to come forward and tell who they saw and what they saw. 60K would be a pretty good incentive.

Your comment was bolded by me. The Bluegrass Parkway is very rural in the area where her car was found. It could be very possible that IF someone was driving the car to dump it and had someone following close behind them to pick them up that they could accomplish this without any car passing by to see it. Especially true if this happened in the middle of the night.

That reward wow! It increased very quickly. Sadly, I don't have a good feeling about this one :(:(

If she had tried to make it to an exit then her rim would most likely be all bent up (I'm guilty of doing this myself in the past with a flat). So she dropped her child off at home with her bf and then left again. Where was she going?

Crystal is a very beautiful woman and very fetching with her long Blonde hair. Five children and how many fathers. I suspect she lived life on the edge and it caught up with her. Relationships don't seem to be her strong suit with the older daughter living with grandma and the boyfriend and latest baby daddy unwilling to let Crystals parents see the child.

Her parents seem heartbroken!

The current boyfriend was running for sheriff which puts another spin on things. He seems happy to cooperate and submitted to a poly that came back inconclusive .

I'm still thinking stranger danger.

I also want to know where she going. It was July 4th weekend. Many people had the day off Friday. She has 5 children but no one missed her, except her parents, until Sunday? She lived with the BF yet he did not find it odd that she was not home Friday night, Saturday or Saturday night? Who has a 3 day weekend without one single plan? No cookout with friends, fireworks with her kids, nothing? Did she have a plan with someone other than BF & something went wrong? So many things we don't know!

This certainly doesn't sound good. Keep in mind that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line and that the estimated 12 miles mentioned earlier may not be a direct line. There may be a lot of empty pastures to walk across.

I wonder what information they'll get from the tire damage.

From WAVE 3 website

Rogers was last seen Friday night by her boyfriend, Brooks Houck, on his family's farm where they were spending time with their 2-year-old son.

“They went out and they came home and he went to bed and supposedly she stayed up on her phone,” Ballard said.

I still do not understand how no one "missed" her until Sunday!

Wednesday's search area seems somewhat random. What caused them to search that particular area? Pings? Connections to that area?
