Grrr and I am bothered he is driving by those searching in the hot fields and highway for his missing girlfriend the mother of his son while he rides by in an ac police car...really!!!

What's wrong with that picture. Heads would roll if I was the police chief in charge of that officer who did that!!!

Lots of off duty police officers and their families search for the missing on their days off.

I understand about them not wanting him to search but he could be at the meet up center donating and handing out water and supplies and thanking those searching for Crystal.
Right! Instead of doing a drive by of the search site. Very brazen IMO

How long can be a car parked on that highway until some patrol stops to check it?

Moreover, there must be a lot of people who ran the highway in both directions on Saturday. To view a car in the same place, 6, 8 or 10 hours later is very weird, and I think almost everyone would remember it. Therefore, the car must be left in that place on Sunday, or at the earliest on Saturday night.

I don't know how long it would take for someone patrolling to notice it but in not surprised that nobody really noticed anything. It's not a real busy highway. I usually try to avoid it for that reason.

The bf said there was a timeline. I wish we had a copy of their timeline. We really don't have much to go on. I did read the news bulletin with all the prayers and came across a guy saying the dogs followed her scent but it stopped at the water. This bf doing behind the scene searches sounds like Casey Anthony. He sounds very narcissistic. I'm not quick to jump to conclusions but this guy is hiding something. He is the last person to see someone alive I don't care if it were my worst enemey I showed some sort of panick and emotion. Think about it! Inconclusive polygraph, very unemotional, if it were your gf/bf baby momma would you just be so laid back ? He is keeping the child from the moms side of family. He didn't report her missing ( Casey Anthony) didn't call her friends or family it was the 4th of July. Now I've tried to give this guy the benefit of the doubt but I'm not buying it. We need a timeline!

Sounds more like he's got his OWN timeline. (And he's sticking to it). LE may have a different one. He also sounds more like Susan Powell's husband....wee morning hours, camping, keeping kid from her family.....

Just.....hinky meter......

I think they are looking in the wrong spot. Think, where would one hide a body ? Maybe a place brooks frequented as child ( think Casey Anthony) also does brook have acess to a boat? I would like the parents of bf interviewed, search cell records. I think a new district should take over case too much conflict of interest. Small town politics.. For some reason I think brooks has pull in that town. Who runs for Sheriff without any experience? One that comes from a family of money, one hot headed arrogant person.

GRACE: I get it. So that night, you get back and what was she doing when you went to bed?

HOUCK: She was playing games on her phone.

GRACE: Really? OK. Where was the baby?

HOUCK: The baby was still up.

GRACE: OK. And who -- who had the baby while she was playing games?

HOUCK: He was just running loose in the house.

GRACE: OK.

HOUCK: If a light`s still on in the living room, he is not going to go to bed until all the lights are out. So if there`s still activity going on in the home, he is going to stay it up with me.

GRACE: Now what time did you go to bed and was she still up playing games on her phone?

HOUCK: She was still up playing games on her phone. And it was really close to midnight.

GRACE: OK. And was the baby still awake?

HOUCK: Yes, ma`am.

I'm trying very hard to keep an open mind and not jump to conclusions about the bf. This part of the dialog with NG jumped out at me, though, because I sense anger, or disdain, as though he wanted to sully the victim's character. Maybe it was for the parents' benefit, to say in so many words, "You think your daughter's so wonderful. This is how she cares for your grandchildren." IDK, but that line about the child "running loose in the house" was over the top.

A person who's so measured with words normally wouldn't blurt that out even if it were true, especially if he were sincerely worried about the woman he loved. He'd be protective of her, cover for her. Instead, we're left with a rather unattractive image of the missing mom. It falls in line with a familiar pattern.

One has to wonder if all this game playing while toddler runs loose around the house at midnight didn't send someone over the edge.

On the other hand, could be just my imagination.

Did he also slip up when he said if there are still lights on he's gonna stay up "with me"? Seems to be in line with the theory that HE was the one staying up playing games on the phone.

I know I compare this guy to Casey Anthony a lot but he really does have that same arrogance about him.. "I'm very glad you asked that question nancy".. " No, Nancy that's incorrect".... He was quick to tell NG she was wrong about her showing a house that evening but that's not what nancy was saying .. If anyone reads the NG transcript and doesn't think this guy is off or behavior is off, is insane

I kind of agree. I wish KSP could've been put in charge for that reason. Too many close relatives in law enforcement.

I'm telling you! Way too much conflict of interest. KSP should have already taken over. I hear it's a small town and I don't trust people not to dispose of evidence or not look hard enough at something. People are crooked.

There's one detail about this case that keeps gnawing at me, but I haven't seen it addressed much.

It seems rather likely that Crystal wasn't driving her car when it got a nail in the tire and went flat out on that stretch of highway. Granted, all of her stuff was in there, but I don't think she was. The flat tire was a big surprise and an unpredicted obstacle in the attempt to cover up and hide this crime. It appears that the car was being taken to a different location in an attempt to create a buffer zone from where the crime occurred to where her vehicle would ultimately be found. This would have transferred the search zone over 25 miles away from Bardstown, and possibly a lot further.

Now, where would this car have been headed ? Elizabethtown ? Some other small town ? Close to an ex-boyfriends house ?

The person that was transporting the vehicle, how did he/she plan on getting back to Bardstown after the car was abandoned ?

I think I may have the answer. Two people involved, one driving her vehicle, one following behind.
When Crystals car got an unexpected flat tire, the person following simply pulled over, stopped, and picked up the driver right there on the side of the road. It would have been too risky to put on a spare tire there on the shoulder, since a highway patrol could come along at any minute.

Even though planting her car in another town and staging a crime scene was part of the plan, it turned out to be a huge failure, so that part of the plan was abandoned. Either way, the person driving her car was going to have to make it back to Bardstown.

It seems like to me that at least two people have to be involved in this caper. They need to look very seriously into any women that Houck may have known and communicated with. To me, this almost screams out a female helping a male get rid of his troublesome girlfriend.

Motive? Well, maybe he wanted sole custody of their child. Maybe he didn't want to be saddled with child support payments for the rest of his life. Maybe he just liked this other woman better and wanted to start up a family with her instead. IF it turns out that Houck is behind this, then it appears to be premeditated and planned out in advance, but I still think he had an accomplice, simply due to the attempt to move her car far away from the scene of the crime. Somebody picked up the person driving that car when it got a flat tire, and even if it hadn't gotten a flat tire, that same person was going to give him a ride back home to Bardstown.

Nail in tire....nails....construction company owner.... Builds houses......HMMMMM......
What projects has this guy been working on? According to that BBB complaint, he pours concrete too. I'm not liking any of this. Did that nail get picked up at a construction site and where is THAT site? I HOPE LE is checking out ALL his construction sites. The nail is too coincidental IMO.

Oh my I was just thinking the same thing and they never did find Stacy. This is a very sad case. Five children are asking the same question. Where's Mom?

I have been following along since the beginning and I always have that hope she will suddenly appear and this is all a big mistake.

But we know that is NOT going to happen. Where are you Crystal?''

I wonder how many are out searching this weekend and if they found anything at all.

Construction sites would be a great place to look. Great idea.

Well say one is building a house, pouring the concrete foundation........(not sure if they have concrete foundations there in that part of the U.S.?)......put a body into the concrete, it sinks, concrete hardens.......body hidden. I have no reason to believe this happened but just one way for someone to hide the body of someone they killed such that theyre so cocky and sure they won't get caught, right?

I agree, this appears to have been a carefully planned "disappearance". IMHO the least likely place she would be found is anywhere near her car. The fact that he has an equipment rental business is very concerning. He could have dug a deep hole anywhere and disposed of her body. As far as his being cooperative, well of course he is. He worked his plan and now he is selling it. They need to bring in state police or the FBI.

The majority of houses out here have concrete foundations. I'm not sure I've ever seen a house without one. Her sister had posted a picture of his truck asking if anyone remembered seeing it Friday or Saturday night with her in it and then it kind of made me wonder if that was their primary vehicle or if her car was. I haven't seen any other cars besides those two. I'm assuming they drove together Friday to his family get together but it's not necessarily been verified. Maybe something happened after they left but before they got home? It would explain why the bag was still in the car. There's that chunk of time that's not accounted for and that's the most important piece of the timeline, for me. I would be surprised if she ever made it back to the house after that to even be up until midnight playing on her phone while the kid ran around the house. I just don't think it happened.
