FBI now leading investigation in disappearance of Crystal Rogers; 9 federal search warrants executed

The agency says more than 150 law enforcement officers began executing federal search warrants and conducting more than 50 interviews.

Crystal Rogers: Federal search warrants executed as FBI Louisville takes over as lead investigative agency

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Federal search warrants are being executed and interviews will be conducted in connection to Crystal Rogers’ disappearance as the FBI Louisville takes over as the lead investigative agency.

FBI Louisville made the announcement Thursday morning and said it is working with several federal, state and local partners, including the Internal Revenue Service, the Kentucky State Police and the United States Attorney’s Office.

FBI officials said more than 150 state and federal law enforcement officers will begin executing nine federal search warrants and interviewing more than 50 people in Bardstown on Thursday.

ETA this sounds hopeful. It sounds like they're swooping down on Bardstown en masse today. Jmo

I'm cautiously optimistic. Jmo. I'm hoping for a presser maybe? Trying not to read between the lines or add info but it sure sounds like a very concentrated effort to me. More jmo.

As the FBI takes over the Crystal Rogers case, multiple search warrants are being served in the Bardstown area. A neighbor sent me this- says police arrived to Brooks Houck’s home around 5:45 and just put up tape.

We’re on Pulliam Avenue - at the home Brooks Houck’s brother, Nick shares with their grandmother. I can see FBI agents collecting evidence, as well as a pick up truck that’s has all its doors opened. The county sheriff is also on scene.

FBI searching three properties in Crystal Rogers investigation

A spokesperson for the agency told WKYT that investigators searched three properties early Thursday morning.

Those properties belong to Rogers’ ex-boyfriend and suspect in her disappearance, Brooks Houck, his brother and former Bardstown Police Officer Nick Houck, and their mother, Rosemary Houck.

The FBI has also launched a website dedicated to sharing information on the case. The FBI said the site will serve as the official source of information from law enforcement regarding the case. The organization said the site will be paired with the release of previously withheld, new and unique details on the case.
